Sapphire Blue RT-10 Viper

This Viper is a 2001 with only 4,000 miles. The previous owner took decent care of it but wasn't very meticulous. The interior was pretty dirty as well as the outside. There were some moderate scratches on most of the panels, especially the side skirts from getting in & out of the car. The inside of the wheels were filthy.



My process:



Washed exterior



Clayed with Opti-Clay



Buffed complete exterior with Compound Moose



Buffed complete exterior with FP II



Werkstatt's Prime by hand



Souveran by hand



Super Blue dressing on wheels & wheel wells



Wicked metal polish on wheels

Beautiful. Looking to add a snake later this summer, hopefully a Sapphire Blue w/ Silver Stripes GTS. I love the feel of Vipers, just a pure, raw, driver's car. Incredible on a road course.
 
I was thinking the same thing. Awesome work - the finish, wheels, & tires all look outstanding. I can only imagine what a ray of sunshine would do.

I noticed that, that colour on vipers doesn't show a good detail very well. For you to get it like that, is very impressive. :)
 
Where did the sun goes when you need it most :furious:. From some of the photos you can tell the car looks pretty wet, great job :clap:.
 
Whoa, that is one mirror black Viper. Incredible work on that paint! I'd also be interested in hearing how you cleaned the inside of the wheels.
 
I think Rick mentioned in an earlier post, that he takes the wheels off the car.

First off, thanks for all the positive comments!



For some reason the pictures don't really do the car justice. I think my camera is getting a little tired because the pictures haven't been the greatest lately (maybe I messed up the settings?). On the next sunny day I will take some good sun shots outside to show off the paint. It's a really nice blue color with a bit of metallic which you cannot see in these pics.



Anyways, for those of you who were wondering how I clean the wheels... On some cars I take the wheels right off the car to clean behind them, but on this particular car I just used some non-acid wheel cleaner and a bottle style brush I purchased fom Auto Zone to reach behind and agitate the brake dust.



FujiFast- You should definitely come down some day and check out some of the cars.



Scottwax- I really liked the Compound Moose. This is the first car I've used it on, so I am still experimenting with it. It gives a nice deep gloss without any hazing that I could see and no dusting at all. There was no sunlight when I was buffing, so I wasn't able to look at the results from just the Compound Moose before polishing with FP II.
 
For the people wondering about the Sapphire Blue color on Viper',s you have to see in real life as pictures don't do it justice. The color is gorgeous and deep. Another sick color on snakes, find a Steel Grey Viper (only available in 00'). Now that color when done up is nutz, it's like silver, grey, and a hint of metallic blue.
