Saab, Beetle, Accord, Cayenne, MPV

2005 Volkswagen New Beetle. I did this one about 6 months ago so it was still in pretty decent shape. I used Optimum Polish using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads and sealed with Optimum Poli-Seal using my PC and a blue Propel finishing pad.

2005 Saab 9.5. Kind of an in-between car for a regular. He sold his M3 and still hasn't decided for sure what will replace it. This Saab is actually a friend of his who is loaning him the car until the end of the year. He wanted to get it detailed as a thank-you. Overall, the car was in good shape but it had some haze on it from prior polishing. Looks like it was someone using a DA/RO buffer like a PC but stopping after using a cutting pad. Anyway, I used Optimum Polish using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads and sealed with Optimum Poli-Seal using my PC and a blue Propel finishing pad.

2006 Honda Accord. I see this one every few months, so like the two above, I used Optimum Polish using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads and sealed with Optimum Poli-Seal using my PC and a blue Propel finishing pad. As you can see by how low the sun is in the reflections, it was pretty late when I finished this one.

2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Weekly wash customer, has it waxed 5-6 times a year. There were some water spots in the hood, so I went over them with Meguiars DACP using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads. Took them out very nicely but since this Cayenne has such soft paint, DACP left quite a bit of hazing even using a mild pad. I followed with Optimum Polish using green Propel Cyclo pads, sealed with Opti-Seal using a blue Propel finishing pad and my PC. Topped it all off with Pinnacle Souveran.

2003 Mazda MPV. Referral from my Optimum distributor. He does some detailing too but this one would have been a long drive for him so he called me. :)



I called the woman who owned the van and while talking to her and hearing her say how they take really good care of it, my spidey sense was tingling like mad. We all know "we take good care of our _________" means the vehicle is going to be nasty.



This one lived up to my worst expectations...

Woolite/water, Bio Kleen Traffic Lane Cleaner, my Cyclo with the scrub brush attachments, Optimum Protectant Plus and a few hours of my son and I busting our humps, we ended up here:

Not perfect but a lot better. How they got all that mess under the mats is beyond me. :nixweiss



The exterior wasn't any better and for some reason, it had a single stage paint job. Slightly oxidized, numerous paint transfers but very minimal swirling. Since we were on a strict time frame (the owner had to pick someone up at the airport that afternoon) and also a top end price she didn't want to go past-plus the trashed interior-I decided to put Optimum Poli-Seal to the test and use it as a true one step. I did go over a few of the deeper paint transfers with a terry cloth towel and Meguiars DACP, then I used Poli-Seal via PC and a Meguiars polishing pad. It really did a good job removing the light oxidation and the remaining paint transfers and added noticable depth gloss and slickness.

Man you are really the black car master. The Cayenne looks sick! I take it you really like the Poli-Seal? If only they had it in smaller sizes.
 
You worked wonders on the MPV. Gives me chills staring at it. All the cars look lovely, especially the Saab.

I really like Poli-Seal. Very easy product to use, almost seems like a mix of Vanilla Moose and Meguiars #26 wax in terms of cut and finish. Slickness is terrific too. I have heard that a smaller size will be made available depending on demand.



fdizzle-black isn't easy for anyone! However, when almost 40% of the vehicles I take care of are black, you learn how to make it look good or find a new career. ;)
 
I simply love the Saab and the Cayenne, the paint work looks excellent, very good depth and clarity :2thumbs: . The work done on the rest of the cars are just as great :bigups
 
Scott - Do you like Opti-seal better than Prime and can opti-seal be used just as a sealant?

BTW - That bug is funny with TCU license cover and then a longhorn emblem :think2

Haha, no tip on the MPV. Minivan owners are by far the least likely to tip. And no, that is soda in my cup, not coffee. I absolutely despise the taste of coffee. I have yet to figure out how something that smells that good can taste so nasty. :nixweiss



Until today when cold weather rudely interrupted our late October warmth, it has been in the 70s to low 80s so an insulated cup is necessary for sodas!





altez-I like Poli-Seal on surfaces that still need minor refining more than Prime since it definitely has more cut. On well prepped surfaces, I could go either way, although P-S does darken the paint more. I guess it would depend on which look you prefer. AJ Trigger seems to work fine over P-S too.



My son also pointed out the oddness of having both TCU and UT logos on her car but since she has a college age daughter, that probably is the best explaination for her having both.
 
Scott: What did you use on the VW convertible top?



You just reminded my why I HATE mini-vans. Man, that interior was a mess, but I'm sure you've seen worse (LOL).



The Porsche paint looks awesome. PS over Opti-Seal is a nice look on black paint.

I only like instant coffe heres the only recipe I will drink



2 scoops of of coffee

4 scoops of sugar

an oz of french vanila creamer

an oz of heavey cream

and the rest milk with some ice...... So I guess at that point its not really coffe??



I would think you would like 70s and 80s, Im at 55/60 up here..... My season is just about over :( hence the more frequent posting.... I'll have a shop next winter though. Your right mini van owners do seem to be pretty tight with cash.

I charged 40 extra on $115 gift certificate she bought at an auction for $60..... well she about cried and said well....... I guess its worth $40 more...... It was worth alot more than that! I was trying to give her a deal..... Oh well.
 
Really great work Scott. The Opti-seal looks very good and I'll be anxious to hear about durablity.

(I wish there weren't so many good products to try!)
