S100 Total Corrosion Protectant

By now I'm sure everyone is aware that the S100 and P21S brands come from BIS. One of the products that has not crossed over into the P21S car care line is S100 Total Corrosion Protectant. It should! I've kept this little secret in my back pocket for a long time, but now I'm sharing it you you.



What is S100 TCP? Simple, it's an aerosol multi-surface protectant that works wonders under the hood, on exterior black trim, on tires, and in the wheel wells. S100 TCP is one of my favorite engine detailers. Spray it everywhere and give it a quick wipe. It really does fight corrosion and it holds up well on hot surfaces (up to about 220 degrees).



Get it anywhere S100 products are sold. I get mine from CMA.
 
How does this compare to their S100 Engine Brightener?



I was wondering if S100 EB would be a subsitute for Black to Black and similar products.
 
A friend of mine has been using this on his Harley's for a while and also gives it the :up . He says it lasts about 2 weeks on the bike he rides regularly.



I'm pretty sure this product is nearly identical to Pig Spit which has the exact same qualities. It works miracles on painted engine bay surfaces, plastics and rubber. Pig Spit lasts about 4 weeks of garage queen duty.;)



Once dry the stuff doesn't attract dust and leaves a beautiful natural looking finish. Some surfaces may require minor buffing to make it look perfect.



I guess the only concern I have is the long term effects on the rubber. David, have you seen any adverse affects?
 
Is "S100 Total Cycle Corrosion" the same thing as the "S100 Total Corrosion Protectant" being discussed in this thread?:nixweiss
 
Hmmm I think I made an assumption that it is the same thing, I wonder now if it is.



David, can you confirm this?
 
1. Durability under the hood is better than on a bike out in the elements.



2. Works great on rubber. In fact, I use it on my tires when I'm in a hurry.



3. No adverse problems. It does not contain cleaners and it dries fast.



4. Yes, the actual product is S100 Total Cycle Corrosion Protectant (orange can, blue top).



5. Spray two light coats and it will not attract dust.

If you want your engine to have a natural, matte finish, spray a light coat and buff it off. If you want your engine to be shiny, spray two light coats and do not wipe.

I assume that your car has to be relatively clean in order to do this. I have a new car with about 5,000 miles, think I could just spray twice and leave it, or should I give it a once over with shop towels before just spraying twice and leaving??
 
Definitely do a quick wipe down before applying. It never hurts to have a clean engine and it should be very easy to maintain since it's still new.;)

Maybe I wasn't very clear, I use S100 Total Corrosion Protectant as a dressing after cleaning the engine and engine compartment.
