S100 paint cleaner or polish, yes or no?

I can't seem to get a straight answer on this stuff. I have S100 so is it important to also use their polish before I wax?

Thanks a bunch.

Ray,

The SEC (S100) is same as the GEPC (P21S), and it is great stuff. You don't NEED to use it before using the wax, but you will see improved results if you do, and it is very easy to use.

It is extremely gentle, so you need not worry at all about wearing away your clearcoat. But because it is so gentle, it won't handle serious swirls as well as a more aggressive product would, such as DACP, for example.

My routine is DACP, then GECP, then P21S wax. Works for me, but that's just my $.02.

Good luck! :up

I agree with JCATT.

Use the products that deliver the results you want. In other words, worry about results, not products. When you do this you will discover there are no "straight answers", only variations on a theme. Its up to you to find out what combo works best.

No skimping here!

Similarly like paint, a wax job is ONLY as good as it's prepped surface.

GEPC and SEPC are SO easy to use anyway.

So your saying it's better to go back to the HD dealer and buy the S100 cleaner/polish then wax with S100?

Okay, I will do it.

Yes, I suppose, since it's supposed to be a good product.... :nixweiss

But what some of the others are trying to get at is not to get too hung up on thinking you "must get the SEC". It won't make a poorly prepped surface look amazing all by itself and there is more than one way to skin the proverbial cat.
