S&W questions

Is S&W PH balanced? Ok to use on vinyl like a tonneau or inside the interior for a vinyl cleaner?

I've read old posts regarding this product and current ones also which people have said that you don't need to saturate each panel. Even on the back of the bottle it says that little is better, only a couple of mists per panel will do. How is it that this product won't cause marring or scratches when you use so little product? I don't doubt the claims, but it kind of scares me a bit. My first reaction is to mist tons of S&W and then clean as usual.

Marring is not generally caused by product applied to the paint surface. Marring is caused by the choice and method of towel. Use S & W in conjuction with a quality uf, and gently passage of the uf and you will not get marring.

S&W has dirt encapsulating cells that cover the dirt, To be safe just spray on, let it sit to loosen / cover the dirt and wipe. Try a panel and see what happens. I haven't seen 1 person complain, you have to be smart and let the microfiber absorb the dirt. If not Steve will def stand by his product and help you out!

I had the same concerns. My paint is as "scratch/mar sensitive" as it gets. I don't really use S&W after my car has been driven in the rain, but I will use it after a short ride or a few days after a wash.

I use S&W where most people use QD's, I only QD if the paint is clean(post wash). I do not use a CCD.

I like to use S&W with a 24x36 velvet smooth MF. I usually follow with a QD.

Thanks for the replies. What about the ph balanced question? What about using it for a vinyl cleaner?

I do not know the ph, but I bet that it is neutral. Typically after using something that is a strong alkaline you get that slick feeling between your fingers when washing your hands(any idea what I mean?). I don't get that feeling with S&W. Very scientific, huh? :)

I have also heard Steve say that even if you drank it, you would only get a stomach ache.

III,

Well, I'm not sure whether S & W is neutral or not. I would say it's half way between "acidic" and "alkaline". :lmfao

Seriously, like EBP, and others, I had the same concerns about S & W. Now, it is one product I would not be without. However, I still do not use it on a "really" dirty vehicle.............. I still wash when the vehicle is in that condition. However, others use it for complete washes on a dirty vehicle with good success......... I'm just not that brave yet! :D

The only time I use a regular QD, is right after a wash, or right after I use S & W first.

use it all the time - after a rain, daily - I wash the dog with it :)

I have very scratchy paint too (must be a honda thing) and never once did scratch it :)
