S&W Question

The Rainmaker
Recently I read a post on another site saying that S&W was good for use on glass, vinyl, and leather.
Is it actually recommended for use on leather and vinyl?

FWIW, I love the stuff on paint and use it by the gallons.
That said, I was not too impressed with it on glass. The windows where I used it looked great for a day or so and then seemed to show some streaks. My first thought was that I didn't do a good job of wiping it off so I made sure to use a completely different MF for my final wipe the next time I used it. Same problem. Anyone have any comments on the use of it on glass?
Again, FWIW, I have no problem at all with streaking when using the S&W on paint.

Charles I share the same results with it on windows. After a day oor so it tends to show some streaking and like you I never get streaking on the paint. O ya I too use it by the gallons!!

I use it on windows on the cars and glass around the house all the time with my glass mf towel and never have a problem...you might be using too much product :ermm:

OK, so I may be using too much product on glass, what about the vinyl/leather question?

Charles

Charles it is safe to use on both vinyl and coated leather. Most of today's leather's are coated, unlike older vehicles, Use it to remove light dirt or dust before using a dressing is fine. I often use S&W on my dash to remove dust before using Natural Look or to just tone it down.

I had the same problem on glass with S&W. I diluted a small batch 2:1 S&W to water. I thought the results were much better.

CharlesW, I normally use a diluted solution of S&W for glass. However, when I am using it on paint, I don't worry about getting a bit sloppy around the glass and have sprayed it full strength on the glass. I haven't noticed any streaking issues.

I have not used S&W for any interior applications.

I think the particular problem in question is the streaking that seems to occur with humidity/moisture and generally appears the next day or so.

my cars leather isnt coated. can it be used on em?

If your car is the Mini in your avatar, the leather is coated. If you have an old school Mini equipped with leather seats, that leather is NOT coated.
