I had picked up some 3M SMR the other day to remove etched in bug guts from the front of my car.I noticed it removed most but not all of the bug stuff. At the same time I have also noticed if I rub my hand very lightly over the paint surface (as I learned here) I can feel very few and very small bumps on the surface.I took some of the SMR and treated an area with it and it seemed to remove the bumps. How does using SMR compare to using a clay bar?The only time I tried a clay bar it was Mothers and I could not really tell a difference in the surface and it did not remove any of the etched type bugs.My paint looks great but I want it to be as close to perfect as possible before I Zaino so I can get the full effect. The bug etched areas can not be seen from 5 foot back butt are visable at close range.Should I try something more abbrasive or get over it?
