i trying to repair a couple medium sized dents. some of the paint chipped off and there are also quite a few cracks in the paint. i started sanding and used a dremel on some of the lines of cracked paint and went down to the metal because i was worried water would work it's way in. (not sure it that was necessary and maybe someone could tell me what i should have done, because there are still a few hairline cracks in the paint).
anyways, where there was bare metal i put rust converter on and was planning to fill with body filler and then prime and paint.
does filler need to be on bare metal or can i just lightly sand the converter and put it on.
never done this before, and i don't expect it to come out perfect, just want it to look respectable and not rust in 2 years.
thanks a lot
