I was using some rubbing compound yesterday to help get rid of tree sap. When i was done i got out the polish (meguiars, the one thats part of the three step process) and tried to remove the haze. To my suprise after I polished the marks were still there....How can i get rid of these marks?

Why on earth did you try to use a rubbing compound to remove tree sap? Did you try a non-abrasive product like some kind of solvent or bug and tar remover first?

The haze was not removed because (as I have lamented a thousand times it seems  ) the Meguiar's Step 2 Deep Crystal Polish is not really a polish at all, but actually a glaze. I know, the naming sucks. :down If you used a really strong rubbing compound a glaze may not be able to hide the hazing. If you have the entire 3 step lineup try the Step 1 product or Scratch-X or... (what else do you have?) Basically you need a fine abrasive.
