rubber/trim protectent

I was looking at Meguiars Gold Class protectent and the new NXT one. It would be used for the interier and trim parts. Which rubber /trim protectent is better or these two? I have used many but never satisfied with the resulats. I want something I can get locally.

i think the nxt one is really glossy, and has the smell to it which is either good or bad depending on you. but watch out if u get that stuff on the glass... talk about streaking... i havent used the gold class protectant so im not sure about it... but what I would recommend would be the 1z products for the interior... i switched over to them a couple months ago, and ill never use anything else (besides 303 aerospace protectant). the 1z products do not leave a slippery or glossy finish...

Well, you didn't tell us what you are looking for and what you didn't like about all the other products so its hard to recommend a specific product w/o detailed info from you.

About the only suggestion I can make is to keep trying products until you find one that you're satisfied with. I know that's super obvious but every protectant is different and what I like, you may not, and vice versa.

The NXT protectant is solvent based which I don't care for nor will I recommend, but you may like it so it might be worth a try.

Products like Armor All Original, 303, Vinylex, 1Z Teifenwhatever, etc are water based and are safer for rubber and plastics in the long term. There's lots to choose from so I'm sure you'll find one you like.

For exterior trim I find AIO/SG to protect well, permanently eliminates the concern about products running and staining.

For the exterior trim, has anyone found the Forever Black product to work well. I haven't used it, but was wondering if anybody had any comments to add about that product. For the Interior, I use a commercial water based dressing that leaves a nice fragrance.

My understanding of Forever Black is that it is a dye product, for trim already sun faded/discolored that needs new coloring

So I guess that the trim that needs to be dressed on newer cars wouldn't need a product like that? Is it something that would be harmful or something. I only ask because I've never used the product, but was considering on purchasing some. Currently, I'm using a dressing by auto magic on the exterior trim which is working ok. Just the durability is something that I would like to be a little more effective. Any comments or suggestions anyone?

I don't use any liquid or gel based dressing on the exterior stuff, the Klasse twins combo seems to do fine :up

It works so well its amazing. No products running down the side of your car in the rain and it makes the trim nice and black.

Works for me too

If you recenty dressed your trim with NTX, and wanted to switch to AIO/SG, what prep work should you perform?

Wipe trim down with 50/50 alcohol/water?

Wash trim with Dawn? [The rest of the vehicle has recent SG application, so maybe that would not be a good idea ...]

Just AIO over the NTX?

I have tried Mothers Back-To-Black, ValurGuard Trim N Vinyl Renewer, 303, and most recently, Meguiar's NTX. I'm just not happy with durability of any of them on my parked-outside vehicle ... I may not be able to get that "just-dressed" look with SG, but I expect I will get some durability.

Thanks.

I use 303, vinylex and or Poorboy's Natural look on my exterior trim that is textured. On the smooth trim, just aio.
