rotary vs. cyclo

With AG's sale it got me looking into getting a new polisher, right now i have a pc and want to step it up, have both. So i was wondering if people still use the cyclo polishers or if there a thing of the past, also would u recomend a rotary or a cyclo.Thank you for the info

I LOVE my cyclo, but if I had to choose between the two I'd consider this:

-If you are using it on your rides, and take good care of them, the PC and/or cyclo should fit the bill 99% of the time.

-If you are detailing cars that are not very well cared for, and want to 'get the job done' in a reasonable amount of time, then clearly the rotary is the answer. I have Dewalt & Metabo rotaries, and the Metabo is a dream machine. It's set up almost identical to the PC and has a unique feel wrt rotary polishers. It costs a bit more, but it's worth every penny IMO. The Dewalt is an excellent tool too, but it's much heavier and much more unforgiving vs. the Metabo. You'll need some rest after a day with the Dewalt :)

-Good luck.

I Have The Metabo And I Love It,i Would Not Trade It For No Other
Rotary On The Market Or Least No That I Found.

My biggest concern with the Cyclo is you can't adjust the speed. I use the Cyclo strictly for interior carpet care( beating out the dirt/sand). I prefer rotary and pc for exterior work. Guess I need to check this Metabo out.

Excellent advice!! I totally agree with you. :)

The Cyclo is my favorite polisher. Granted, I don't do this professionally, and if I had the desire to learn the rotary, I might not use it so much. It's definitely a step up (a big step) from the PC alone, and it can correct quite a bit of defect if you have the time to give it.

As stated before, if you are keeping up your personal vehicles, which are in the 95-99% defect free range, a Cyclo would be a great addition to the PC.
