Rotary Update . . .

so i have a hitachi rotary, as many of you regulars here know....

girl is gonna be getting rid of her 00 neon that has a paint job not worth being detailed.

i figure crap paint + wont hurt value of car (since is worthless, current condition under 1k BB) + OHC, Rotary and cutting pad = fun times :xyxthumbs

Having only OHC as the most agressive product on hand, three passes @2200rpm *and minor, minor, sporadic paint burn) would not remove some of the heavy defects.

so aside from extreme cut . . . i need some suggestions

somthing more agressive than HTEC would be . . .

can very agressive compounds produce results with yellow foam/orange foam cut pads ?

i dont want to step my non-existant rotary game up to wool pads yet, or ever for that matter, so fill me in on your two cents fellas . . .

10 – MOST AGGRESSIVE - COMPOUNDS

3M SUPER DUTY RUBBING COMPOND HEAVY CUT 39004

MEGUIAR’S BODY SHOP PROFESSIONAL DIAMOND CUT COMPOUND 2.0 VERY HEAVY CUT #85

These are basically liquid sand paper and should be used with caution. I would still try a wool pad... they were made for a reason :)

lets do this . . . . ill pm you about times and dates . . . . my lady should have her car for a few more weeks . .

#85 cuts pretty deep but with the diminishing abrasives it’s surprising what it can do on some paints. I was using it on hard single stage white with a W4000 wool pad and it basically finished down to final gloss. I was really surprised.
