road salt question

Has anyone tried spraying the undercarriage with wax or some other product to help keep salt and other debris from clinging? It may help keep the salt from penetrating and may wash the salt off a lot easier at a high pressure car wash.

Has anyone ever hear of SafeCote? Maybe we should all send this to each of our Department's of Transportation. It looks like it may be a good alternative to the rock salt, liquid calcium, anti-skid, and other paint eating garbage the D.O.T. is currently throwing on the roads for winter maintenance.

i hate the salt too. Iv got winter tires on my car and i can get around good enough without the salt. I really should get a winter beater, but thats not going to happen. Just think, a winter beater car. never have to wash it, dont have to worrie about paint damage, dont have to worrie about rust...
