Road Chips Cover Up

Front bumper and front of hood have a lot of road chips- too many to touch up. Eventually will need to repaint. In the meantime I waxed the car using a Meguiar's wax. Problem is the white residue left in all the chips really shows up. Any recommendations on what to use that won't leave residue behind? The color waxes don't sound very good.
