Keep it clean !!!
I was recently sent a free sample of a product called Rimjuice and I must say I was impressed with this products ability to remove heavy brake dust from the wheels of a 2005 BMW X5. The product is acid-based, so precautions should be used when handling, but it will save you a great amount of time when detailing neglected wheels.

I use a few different wheel cleaners depending upon the type of wheel I am cleaning (aluminum, magnesium, chrome, clearcoated) and I would use this product on chrome and clearcoated wheels as long as the product is not permitted to sit on the surface of the wheel and dry.

If you choose to try this product, be sure to use latex gloves that extend beyond the wrist, and use goggles/safety glasses whenever cleaning wheels with brushes.

Uh, the wheels look blushed in their after pics. Not sure if its from prior use or what, but definately not a good pic to show the "strength" of their product...

I'm definately looking into more chemicals.
 
If you look closely at the last picture, you can see that it's still dirty where the lugnuts are recessed into the wheel. It looks like some strong stuff - a lot stronger than I would ever need. Catchy name, though.

I noticed the brake dust in both the lug nut recesses and the recess in the spokes. They could have done better on a flag ship picture.
 
Don't look to amazing to me.

I'll stick with my 25$ gallons of pure phosphoric acid.

Dean, you said in your first post that it is acid based. The description on the page says its safe for all wheels from chrome to polished aluminum. How is this possible with it being an acid based product???

The ad said "no scrubbing". But you DO rinse, correct?

I don't feel like he was advertising this product as much as telling about a sample of the product he recived and the results he got.....this really looks like citrus based cleaner to me, the spray on rinse off thing has never set well with me...I've yet to see anything that will do this without some brushing

I believe that the acid is oxalic acid which is considerably less harsh than phosphoric acid. I would still use precautions when handling any acid based cleaner. The most effective acid based cleaner I have ever used is Auto Magics Spoke. But I would never recommend that product to an enthusiast, because its is extremely strong and must be used carefully. Not only can you easily ruin a set of expensive wheel, this stuff can really give you a bad burn if not handled properly.

Thanks Beemerboy. I agree that there really is not any spray and rinse product that will effectively clean all wheels. I liked the product simply because it seems relatively strong and pretty safe for the enthusiast detailer. It will outperform the consumer grade wheel cleaner and help save time.

Received a free sample and I liked the product. Anyone else wants to sends me a free sample of product that works well, I'll do the same. (hint hint) :)

I'm guessing that this picture was used from this member on a NSX forum who used the product on the outer portion of the rim hence the dust in the lugs.

There are also more pictures in there that show results of the Rim Juice with no scrubbing. The results look good to me. I do agree that they can get a better picture for the front page for sure.

The reason I post this is that I found some Rim Juice at the VIP auto shop (located in New England I think) so I grabbed some and wanted to do more research. I will post pictures sometime in the next month with the results.

Please let us know what you think of the Rimjuice (what an awful name). There's a VIP auto not far from me in Watertown that I pass on occassion. So, I could pick some up if it's any good.

I've never been in VIP before. Do they carry any other interesting products? By any chance do they carry CD2 Engine Detailer? I'm always looking to buy some CD2!!
