Rigid vac dilemma

I was literally forced to purchase a new Rigid vac the other day. I couldnt find a replacement filter for my older model (about 4 years old). Even the one Rigid recommended (for all 3-5 Gal Vac's), was too large. It wouldnt seat properly, so the next step up was a more durable HEPA filter which would have been ok. But it was $30.00! For $39.00 I could get a new 6 Gal, 2.5 hp, which I opted to purchase. The problem is, is my old vac had a 2.5" hose that was easily converted to 1.25" with an adapter HD sold right off the shelf.

The new vac has a 2.5" tug hose, reduced to 1.75" hose, and my dilemma is I cant find a converter for all my 1.25" tools. I need a male/female 1.25" adapter. Anyone solved this issue with a Rigid Vac?

Coot, thanks for the help! Im going to have to double check the diameter now, as its sure (1.75") doesnt seem to be the norm for a wet/dry vac.

[quote name='cgage']I almost hate to say it, but I think duct tape will work just fine in the short term![/QUOTE

Too ghetto! LMAO.......

I went back to HD tonight looking for a 1.5" to 1.5" coupling so I could just buy another 1.5" hose and link the two together, giving me about 12', but no luck. It seems kind of rediculous they include a 2.5" hose, which tapers down to 1.75", but they dont sell an adapter (2.5 to 1.5) for the 1.5" hose they sell. Nor do they sell a slip coupling to link two 1.5" hoses together. They do sell a 2.5" to 1.5" coupling though. So in essence, I could just use the coupling I already have, hook it to the new machine and use 6' of 1.5" hose with my attachments. :wall

Heres what I bought:

Comes with a 2.5" hose, which tapers down to 1.75.

Heres what I currently use, with the attached adapter as pic'd.

I attached it to the old 2.5" hose, which worked perfect. Also gave me about 12' of hose to work with.

Heres what Spoiledman is talkingabout, but its another $35.00!
