Rickrack & Rydawg: Breaking the Gloss Barrier! (lots of pics!)

Rick & Ryan

The only thing I can say, is that the next time a job like this comes in, you HAVE to let me know when the car is somewhat ready for the customer. I would gladly come down to see this type of correction/perfection in person. Something I surely should not miss when it is so close to me!

Next time if you remember, just shoot me a pm or an email to swing by the shop. I really want to see this type of perfection in person. The pictures look deceiving compared to what the real thing looked like.

Great work and I want to see one of these in the metal!

Thanks for the kind words!

The main things that sold me on the D60 is that has a self cleaning lens, vibration reduction and 10 megapixels compared to 6. Supposedly they are doing away with the D40X.

Scottwax-

Thanks Scott! The car is actually a repaint...

Thanks! I have the VR lens that came with the camera

I am really looking forward to learning photography a bit more

Thanks Bryan! I knew I was in big trouble when I did the first test panel. I really wish I could have thrown you on a plane to come help!

White 07 G6 GT-

Thanks! It does help a little bit, but the smaller pads gum-up way too quick when doing heavy compounding like on this car.

Thanks Ian!

You actually just missed another one we did by about an hour. I just met the bodyshop owner down the shop to pick it up. We did such a good job on this one that he gave us another one to detail.

This will be our next click & brag! :) Yup, a black one!!!!:buffing:

We're knocking this off the gloss charts too

Should we expect any less from you two? :xyxthumbs You guys are one of the few dynamic duos on this board and never fail to share your knowledge and outstanding work.

Thanks for posting the pics fella's, keep them pics of your shop coming

I just love looking at detail shop pics, how the products are stored etc

This job put the two of you in another category altogether. There's a world of difference between what you do and what everyone else does. I just have one question for you. Are you sure you want to tackle a job like that again? :hairpull

Whats up with these cars - were they in accidents and the bodyshop is dropping them off after repairs or did the customers just want then wetsanded? Interesting that it was two Infinitis...

Thanks a lot Patrick!

I think I've been inhaling too many detailing chemicals lately to say yes to another one!

I will posting the other one up when I have time
