Revisiting a Porsche GT3 w/FMJ

I detailed this AWESOME Yellow GT3 about a year ago and finished it off with UPP and Trade Secret for the carnauba topper.

I had given it a few touch ups here and there and last weekend I decided to redo it all.

It was not all that dirty so I cleaned it up with QEW, clayed it and then machine buffed it with Menzerna FP1 (Final Polish original).

I used Menzerna PG in a few places only.

After the FP step I then detailed the engine, or rather just touched it up. Next came the wheels and tires and wheel wells. The tires are pretty much El natural with only a well diluted water based tire dressing applied as the owner hates shiny tires and tire dressing sling.

AIO came next and then 1 coat of Menzerna FMJ. The FMJ is some wonderful stuff and I prefer it now over NXT. I wish I had some of the Menzerna Glaze to lay down underneath the FMJ but the UPS guy didn't make it in time:(

Easy on and easy off with the FMJ and a great gloss. I finished the Porsche kinda late Saturday and the weather was just horrible so late today (Monday) the clouds moved on as did the rain and we had some beautiful skies open up. The Porsche's owner called me to take some pictures a few hours ago so I jumped on it. I applied one more coat of FMJ which went on super smooth and it layers very nice:up

The interior was really clean and it just needed a light wiping down and a vaccum. The seats are the original factory seats that would have been in the car had it stayed in Germany. He removed the seats he ordered with the car and put these in. he lightened the car up by 100lbs. The drawback is that the seats only adjust forward and back but they really HUG your body and you actually sit deep down in the seats.

I'll start with some interior pictures, gotta love the carbon fiber treatment eh?

The yellow stitching throughout the interior is a great touch!

Now for some exterior shots. The sun was starting to set and I had wished for a noon sun BUT hey you take what you can get.

First pic is a low shot of the front end. The paint is not messed up if you are wondering but rather it is the Invicishield.

That is one great lookin porshe, its lowered right? It looks way sick with that wheel/tire combo and how close to the ground it is. What did you use on the interior? Looks awesome:xyxthumbs

I love this shot because I believe it shows just how much depth and gloss one can get by using the AIO/Menzerna combo. I only wish I had the Menzerna Glaze to try out against the AIO.

OK...Last picture.....BUT let me tell you all that YES this Porsche runs!! How fast you ask? Well how about 130 mind numbing miles an hour in 3rd gear:scared

Got to take this baby out for a bit of a spin and man it was just beautiful...:bow

The Porsche is not lowered but at factory height, in fact it is adjustable to a certain degree.

On the interior I used Deep Down to clean the leather/vinyl and a light coat of Platinums Leather Conditioner for the seats. Everything else is all natural, no interior dressings.

Thank you,

Anthony

Anthony--it seems that FMJ continues with the real clear look that the Euro version of FP has. Very nice on yellow!

Great work as always! :bow

Looks like you had all the fun. The last two days, I had to detail a Ford F-350, Dodge 2500 and Chevy 2500, all either crew or extended cabs! Suburban tomorrow. Heh.

Scott,

Yeah the FMJ has a great clarity factor to it and I am anxious to see how this improves, if any, when used on top of the Glaze. I should get that order by Thursday.

Sorry to say this but not only can those big trucks be a pain to wash and detail, you can't do 130 MPH in 3rd gear up a winding road in them either:D Well.......I guess you could but you wouldn't be on the road for very long:shocked

Thanks for the compliment,

Anthony

Anthony, those trucks may not go 130 (although some of those Banks 'improved' diesels are much quicker than you might think....much quicker!), I can charge a nice chunk of change to detail them. ;)

Oh well, I know I have the Rolls Phantom to wash on Wednesday and since it has been nearly a month since I waxed it, he will probably want me to do that too. I can hardly wait until he gets the Lamborghini Murcialago (spelling?) roadster.
