Reviewed: The EDGE ShMITT

Hey funny guy, I meant before it developed and sold. A little dry sarcasm never hurt anyone.

This is the exact same ShMitt that is in production today. I use this product everyday......mostly 6-8 times. From large SUV's to boats. To me and others, it is a great product. If you don't like that's ok. Just start your own thread about it. Please.

Wait a minute, now people can't express different opinions in the same thread? That would hardly make this a discussion forum...it would make it a mutual admiration society like some other forums out there.

I love my all white ScMITT. I've washed about 20 vehicles and shampooed 3 interiors with it so far and it looks and works the same as it did the 1st time I used it. It takes a little thinking outside of the box to learn how it works, but I really feel it's the best wash mitt on the market right now. You can't destroy it and it doesn't cause marring. How does a wash mitt get better than that? Yes, it works differently than a conventional wash mitt, but that's what's nice about it. What wash mitt can can scrub a carpet full of dirt and sand, wash greasy/dirty engine bays and wheel wells and with a simple rinse off then wash the softest of black finishes without marring?? People dogging the product need to realize that the positives far outweigh the negatives. What other detail product on the market offers this kind of versatility and can fill the need & cater to the shabbiest of hacks and the truest of Autopians??

Can't someone like AutoNova have an opinion based on his use of the two items in a professional setting as a professional detailer?

Jeez people. Don't make this Shmitt thing out to be the holy grail and anyone who dares say that they don't like it will be striked down.

The beauty of this forum is the lack of a corporate sponsor like Edge that can prevent honest feedback from users or attack them for it. Now if we can weed and call out the corporate shills, we'd all be better for it.

Sorry I meant no harm. :nixweiss

As usual - David states it best. I read this entire thread and honestly, some of ya'll need to relax, damn, I'd really hate to get ya'll started on politics, religion or sports. It's a wash mitt, and a darn good one, if you buy it and don't like it - ok, so what are you out? a few bucks, if you can't lose that pidly amount on trying a new product, move back home and let mommie take care of you.

I've got sheepskins over three years old with 100 washes on them. So, to the contrary, it *is* happening with sheepskins.

Like anything, with proper care, it will last.

As far as a cost basis, I can get 3 Eurow sheepskin mitts for about the price of one Shmitt. When Costco sold them in the 4 packs I could almost 8 mitts for the price of one Shmitt.

Long live the sheepskin.................

 so where can I get this new washing product that you speak of? Used Carpet....sounds nice. Is it the shag or tight knit? :nana:

Spilchy,

This has been discussed by me and mods before.

He needs to start his own thread. Not post in mine about his problems with a product.

It's just that simple.
Excuse me? That's apparently a discussion I wasn't privy to, and I don't recall missing a meeting . . . I see no problem with AutoNova's post. This thread may have started with your review of the Shmitt, but it's perfectly acceptable for others to add their experiences with the product as well (as long as everyone remains civil and minds their manners).

Well, seems to me nobody has actually refuted the shmitt claims via experience--only bashed the advertising style or countered Edge's couter-claims re: wool mitts.

I'm really only seeing positive reviews from those who have actually used them.

So......I'm buying one!

Ok, trying to take this back to topic:

I think the Schmitt is a great product! I ahve yet still to try it with a regular hose and bucket wash, but, so far so good!

I know of so many that use EDGE's products and have totally switched to them. Cyclo is shipping only EDGE pads with their polisher. MALCO is only selling the EDGE2K system. I know of 5 large car washes that are using the ShMitt..........I mean they order at least 200 per order. I also see guys in the UK and Australia using them. Congrats to EDGE for their great products and service.

I know it's made my work a whole lot easier.

Sorry sir. I was out of line. Won't happen again.

I really do appreciate all of you guys who support open expression on this forum (in a healthy manner). I would venture to guess that you all are the same people that have successful and thriving business, know how to treat people professionally and appreciate the value of feedback.

Man, when I got into the business 4 years ago I ate this forum up, it pratically tought me the business and discussion was mature and honest, I loved it.

Now I hardly even want to get on here and deal with people either not responding to threads or responding in such a poor, immature manner- although I certainly have to own my stuff as well, I haven't been perfect. Oh well, blah...blah...blah--16 pages:wow:
