Review Poorboy`s Foam Soap (Beta)

Had to chance to use the sample soap from the Poorboy`s giveaway. It was good timing as I have not washed the car close to a month now. Yeah I know not to Autopian standard. But life throws us curve balls and family is always first.

Onto the goodies.

A nice 4 oz sample to test

First thing I did was smell it. It has a grape scent. Similar to Blackfire Wet Diamond Shampoo. Really nice scent.

I poured it into a measuring cup to measure out a couple ounces to use in a foam gun. No foam canon this time. It maybe time for a new one as it has not been working properly lately. It also wastes too much water and I am taking the California drought into consideration everytime I wash the car. I also very rarely do regular two buckets for that reason as well. But with the current build up of dirt in the car 2 buckets needed to be done.

It has a nice gel like consistency. Not too thin but a little thicker than say Meguiar`s Hyperwash. The thickest soaps I have used is Adams. I would rate this with HD Wash, Optimum Car Wash and DP Xtreme Foam in terms of thickness.

 
Here`s another of me putting my finger in to show the consistency.


I proceeded with filling up my Adams foam gun with 2.5 ounces of Poorboy`s foam soap. The remaining 1.5 ounces I put into a bucket with about 3-4 ounces of water. It generated some nice suds.

Here is the soap and foam gun in action. The soap would definitely stick better with a foam canon.

Thoughts:

Overall I enjoyed using this soap. It foamed up well with a foam gun. It cleaned well with my wash mitt. I think another 1/2 ounce would have been a bit better to get more foam out of a foam gun. 1.5 ounces appeared to do well in a bucket with 3-4 ounces. Suds lasted the entire wash. Overall a great product.

If I was asked what tweak this would need to make it even better. I would have to say to make it just a tad thicker.

Pros:

-Nice grape scent
-Good thickness
-Good lubricty as it allowed the wash mitt to glide across the paint
-Rinsed clean off the paint and glass
-Good cleaning ability paired with a wash mitt


Cons:
-None other than I need more

now that we know it looks or smells like someone else`s soap we can find another combination of color and scent that will be scrumptious for the final version :)

I`ll be more than happy to take the rest of the Grape scented soap off your hands then.
 
Nice review.

Would like to see this compared to CGs Honeydew, which IMHO rules this class of products.

Cucumber Mellon would be a great scent.
