Review: Plexus: Plastic Cleaner

Plastic is one of those things on cars I always seem to overlook, but not anymore. Headlights, taillights, and plastic trim are now cleaned with Plexus during every detail.

When I first received my Plexus, I left it on my shelf for months. I didn't ever seem to find a time when I needed it. One day I was cleaning out the interior of my car and needed something to clean the wood trim with. Fresh out of Z6, I grabbed my bottle of Plexus to try on the trim. I haven't put it down since.

It left the wood in my interior clean and slick, and seemed to reduce some fine scratches in it. After that, I moved on and used it on my LCD panel, plastic trim, and every piece of plastic I could find, it works great.

:up :up

I agree, this stuff is great! I love using it on my digital dash lens on my Lincoln, and interior plastics. It's also great for computer stuff and TV screens.

Interesting, I wonder how well it would do on say a clear bra, such as Armorglove?

After trying to remove some polish from the seam, I scratched it, or made some type of discoloration on it. CRAP! I thought it was a bit for forgiving, guessed wrong!

I've been in contact with Armorglove on issues on detailing and care for these paint protection films and hope they will start to post on the forum soon.

I guess Plexus can't hurt?

I don't seem to have found a LOT of places to use the Plexus I have. It works terrific on gauge clusters and other displays, but that is only the gauge cluster and the clock in my car and the gauge cluster, clock, and gas mileage-compass thing in my mom's vehicle. Well, I guess I'll keep using it on glasses and computer stuff until then.

Oh yeah, my tint! I guess I haven't cleaned my windows for a while. Hmm, I'll have to get on that. That is a big use! I almost forgot about that. The stuff works great on tint if you have good quality tint . Either way, it makes tint film a lot clearer.

I never thought of using it on the guage cluster. I do use it on the plastic rear window on the Porsche but that is it. I guess I will have to try it on all of those other little pieces of plastic now.

BJ, I second that emotion! :up I'm using it on instrument gauges, headlight/taillight/turn-signal lenses. (My old cars don't have much plastic.) Detailed a friend's new SUV, with all that plastic cladding, and it was super.

I've done side-by-side comparisons with Plexus and Novus 1 (#1 is the only Novus I have so far), and Plexus does a much better job. Also seems to outperform Zaino's plastic polish. I'm sold on this stuff.

Don't forget about about scratched CD's and DVD's, too! It fixes about 80% of the rentals I get which have an unplayable section in them. I think this is indisputable, objective proof that Plexus rocks! :)

I've used Plexus on my 'clear bra' on both our Porsche and our Explorer (as well as my last BMW) and it works great. Keeps it nice, clean, and slick.
