Review of Wolfgang Tire Gel *pics*

Today I received my Wolfgang Tire Gel and High-Gloss Sealant. I didn't try out the sealant yet, just the Tire Gel.

The tires were washed with a strong Dawn solution, then rinsed, and washed with an NXT soap solution. Then rinsed and dried.

I pulled a brand new foam tire shine applicator out of a package, and followed the directions from there:

From the label...

"Squeeze a line of Black Diamond Tire Gel on a foam applicator or tire swipe. Wipe applicator evenly over clean, dry tires. Wait one hour before driving. The result is good looking black tires that lasts for weeks, not days."

The gel went on evenly, without any problems with the gel gathering in spaces on the sidewall.

Overall I'm very pleased with the product. It produces just the look that I'm after. The bottle also says you can produce a higher gloss by applying another coat. I don't think I will, because I like just how it looks now.

Nice pics!

I was very happy with it as well. It's a very matte look with a touch of satin sheen, depending on the tire.

Not to hi-jack, but here it is on my car:

I also like the look of this gel but the problem I found was durability.

I eventually went back to the Zaino Z-16 which I find holds up well.

I'll have to respectfully disagree. I put the Wolfgang on my tires about three weeks ago, and it still looks pretty good. I've been using NXT Protectant and Vinylex up to now, and both are almost gone after about two weeks.

I really like the Wolfgang product, and think I might buy more while they have that 20% off sale going.

I was also using the NXT protectant before this. I really like the way the NXT looks, but the real problem I have with it is the extreme oilyness of the product. I would see a film of oil running down the driveway when I'd wash my car. Even when I would buff it off after applying.

I like the WG gel a lot so far. It still looks great, and has actually turned to a more "dark-matte" finish.

Lee,

Like "The Uncle," I have to disagree on durability. While my tires are dirty and they're not as shiny as when the gel was freshly applied, my tires have yet to become dull and have a noticeably black, matte finish after 3+ weeks.

Next up for my tires is Z16. Stay tuned. ;)
