Review of DG - PBA & 105

OK, brief summary - I bought a RAV4 (Flint Mica color) on May 26, first wax was NXT after a couple weeks. Then a month later I did the WG - wash, clay, pre-wax cleaner and sealer. A couple weeks after that I did Natty's blue - then again a month later. I'm not a carnuba wax guy OK, I know that now. So this weekend I used WG pre-wax cleaner and then DG PBA, waited a hour, then applied 105. Ok, I'm sure I put it on a little thick (105) but I couldn't be sure I was getting 105 on or just smearing the PBA! I waited about 2 hours and wiped off with a MF towel, not the easiest thing but not too bad, kinda like a carnuba wax. I was really impressed with the shine, I took it out and tried to scare up some biz for future weekends and I think I landed a few customers. Saturday night into Sunday afternoon, we had heavey rain, saw a couple animals headed for the Ark and got a little concerned, finally stopped about 4:00 PM and the wind dried my Rav4, looked just like it did when I had it shined up the day before. Thanks to Black Bart and Al for the advice, I'll use up all that other stuff in my cabinet (on cheap jobs) and buy DG from now on!

JuneBug..if you had a hard time removing it...you did put it on thick...lol...

yes it does sorta self clean..the dirt just rinses off...wait till your driving in rain and see it is dry while driving..water just rolls off...and it is clean after...

Glad you like it...put on another coat and your good to go and just maintain with Aquawax....

I get a lot of comments on my truck as to how it glows...they want to know what I used...

here is what I do...I do their car...and after I give them a list to get AW and fast clean and shine to keep it up..I show them how to do it....I do it for fun..but get calls from others who seen car I have done who want hier cars done....but show the how to maintain it..they will be back or you will get calls..

remember..the better you polish it out..the better they look...stress that to them

Yep you sure did but don't feel bad I did the same thing the first time that I used it. Wait till you see what it looks like after the AW you really will be impressed then.

I'm already impressed! I guess I'll give it a couple of weeks and do AW. I already have a guy interested in getting his wife's car done.

If you you put AW on a dry surface their are three things to remember
#1 put it on thin.
#2 is put it on thin
#3 put it on thin
Did I mention you need to apply it thin :)

Would it be advisable to add some water to AW if it is to be used on a dry surface?
Isn't that's basically what you do when you spray it on a wet surface after a wash.
Here I go playing chemist again.:)

FWIW, I have used AW on a dry surface several times with no problem. Applying products thin is something I learned a long time ago. I was once told by a person whose opinions I respected, that if you could see the product, that was plenty. When you stop and think about it, you leave a layer just thousandths of an inch on the paint. Everything else is just wiped off.

AL-53 has said that he mixed some water with AW to make it go farther. I tried that but I prefer using it undiluted but apply thin. Many ways to get good results. I agree with your theory most of what we apply is wasted because we just wipe it off. Only thing that we accomplish when we put on too much is we make it harder to remove.

Charles...I have mixed it 70% AW 30% water since it is used on a wet car also..and got good results....I did it a few times in the summer ..but for the winter I am going to use it full strength...

In the summer when it was real hot..and truck was hot..it seemed like the AW set up fast so I added a little water and it seemed to help from setting to fast....if truck was cool and in shade or after a wash...I used it full strength...

But for the cost...I would use full strength when ever I could..

Is it necessary to leave the 105 drying for 2 hours?
I certainly hope not.:)
I'm sure I would have followed the instructions on the label and I think it said to let it till it hazed which was probably about 15 to 20 minutes on a warm, dry day.
They do suggest waiting 24 hours before applying either another layer or the Aqua Wax. I also did that.

Keep in mind that the PBA, 105, AG are all for use on paint that is ready for the LSP. Those three are not paint correction products.
DG has some paint correction products, but I have no experience with them.

I think you will be happy with the results after using the DG. It looks good, but so do lots of products.:) Supposedly, it is quite durable. Since I have only used it a couple of months and applied AG each month, I can't comment on that either. It does look as good today as it did when I first applied it in September, but with the AG freshening each month, I would expect it to.:)

Mate & Cheers makes me think you might not be located in the states.
Your profile has a place to put your location and it will then show up under your name in the left panel. It's kind of nice to have a general idea where people are located.

I added more data to my profile. I'm from Valencia, Spain and I'm detailing as a hobbye. I also do some details for people, so, I like to have the newest products (if they're nice).

Great!
Welcome to DC!
The location is not a big deal, but it not only is nice to know where people are located, it can help when trying to assist them.
As an example, sending you to Auto Zone to buy products probably wouldn't be good advice.:)
