Review: Dramm Shutoff Valve

joe.p said:
So i'm all set i went to Home DePot today and picked up my Brass Quick Disconnects.

I spoke with Dramm today about their disconnects. They make a set (the 775 model) that has zero water restriction. Next in line was their 740 model which folks are purchasing.

So my next task is to hunt down these so called 775 model disconnects and grab a pair.

I'd be curious to know the diameter of your Home Depot ones. After all they may be small and nullify your shutoff valve purchase

Am I making you guys crazy yet? More likely annoying you!

Thanks

I e-mailed them and asked about their shipping rate. To ship the connectors, it was as much as the part!

Spilchy the diameter in the Female disconnect looks to be the same size as the middle pic in your first post

Do you guys think it would be feasible to throw one of the smaller-apertured ones on a lathe to open in up a bit? Wouldn't be too hard IMO, just center drill that bad boy, open it right up. Might make it a bit weaker though, hmmm.....

JUST SAW 3.00 SHIPPING FROM EBAY AND ALMOST ORDERED..then I saw the other site for 10.95 and it looks like shipping is included. wow great deal ,good work guys. :rockon

Glen what happen with the ones you found on ebay?

I'm looking for the 755 quick connects....
I got my shut/off's
I was thinking though..... if we want the larger open shut-off for greater water flow, and if we go with the larger open qc what about the restricted size when the male qc goes into the female qc?
theres goes the water preasure no?

Yeah, I found it at ONE place, but haven't contacted them yet. I'm hoping they will fill an order for a small fry like me. They do not have Internet shopping there.

Once I get the skinny, I'll spill the beans.

I left email with DRAMM there is a base right here in WI. only thing is I only see case prices "like 24 items or there around". but I did ask where I could get them so I will see what they say.

The guy Andrew at the place Joep mentioned indicated to me in an e-mail that in a month he may stock them.

I just wish these places would use the post office for tiny orders like quick connectors. The shipping equaled the cost of the tiny item through UPS.

On a side note, I ordered a 6" counterweight from Coastal Tool about 3 years ago. The piece was a couple dollars. I contacted them and they dropped it in the mail for $1.50 shipping - the cost of the shipping plus a few cents for a bubble envelope. Great guys over there.

Spilchy the 6" CW is down to a $1.50 great price. I;m glad you like them because this is where i may order my makita 9227 from..

The shipping went down to a $1.50, not the counterweight! The shipping previously was like $6.00 UPS for that little sucker before I asked them if they could work with the shipping.

That's where I bought my Makita too. I used it 3 times and am looking to possibly sell it. I want another rotary brand.

That was actually me that gave you Andrew's site but no big deal.
Does anyone happen to have a place where we can view the differences in these larger QC and Shutoff valves.

Any update from them about the 755? I found ONE place online but haven't contacted them yet.

The place that Richard mentioned the discount from (here) has the best prices now on the regular connects coupled with the discount.

1 set + 3 additonal male connectors all for $10.30. BUT, shipping is $7.00. I'm too stubborn to spend that much on shipping for a $10 order when it can go via the post office for half that amount

Just thought I would update ,,, I purchased 3 sets of the 775 qd for 4.75 each and also ordered 2 of the 6" handi grip #106G if anyone is interested. I ordered from their WI. office after a couple email from ANDREW DRAMM he suggested to contact JOY or PATTI at this number 18002580848 he said I would get items much faster. :D
