Review: CG Bare Bones

Does it look just as glossy, or did that die down some throughout the drying process?
The after pic was post-wiping. Note - was just a light wipe, not a vigorous buffing until dry. Does leave a glossy finish.

As far as durability it wont be an issue for me. It really isn't a problem to spray it down again quickly, but most likely I'll have the car re-washed and the wells sprayed down again before it's gone.

I have occasionally wiped down the wells after applying under carriage spray with a foam tire type applicator and keep it in a baggy but it does get messy.

In a pinch, I have used tire dressing such as Armor All Tire Shine or other tire dressing. It does finish decently without a wipe down.

As of late, I have been using Poorboy's Trim restorer on plastic lined wheels. It seems to look better, stays cleaner (maybe because it dries better) and more durable (but somewhat subjective).

Great Review, Round Rock, Texas !

I also tried Meguiars Hyper-Dressing, Griot's version, CGuys Fade to Black/Back to Black, and CGuys Bare Bones, and settled on Bare Bones.
Its fast, with a good sprayer, you can get enough on so you dont have to wipe off, turns the inner fender liners black, and keeps them that way for a bit.
CGuys Back to Black works great too, but its a spray can, kind of hard to get behind the wheel on some vehicles, turns it all black and dries non sticky, and seems to last longer - but - its way more expensive per can than a gallon of Bare Bones.

Thanks for the review and the perfect pictures !

That's what I'll start using my trim restorer on. I have an old bottle that I just didn't like. I didn't feel like it gave me the results that other products do

Thanks for another review. My first impression 2 years ago was an oily mess and I quickly tossed it. I'll give it another shot because I'm tired of aerosols (over spray).

You can definitely make an oily mess with it. The mf wipe (and a little restraint) minimizes that somewhat.

Curious, does anyone apply this a different way? I always find myself holding the spray bottle upside down trying to get it into a corner...

Possibly could use some sort of garden sprayer, or something like this?

A sprayer like that would actually be ideal. Trying to get the bottle into an awkward spot is inevitable. I just wonder if you could find something like that that sprays a wide and fine mist.

That looks like it could possibly be a cool option for application of aome of the spray products where the normal sprayer ends up in odd angles.

If you want a bottle that sprays upside down or at any angle look for the 360 orbit spray bottles with spray, at least I think thats what they are called. I found a few at HD or Kmart in the garden section.

I admit, ive been lurking too much on CG products here lately and i found it very interesting, hopefully ACC put some product reviews cause most of the items doesnt have a review...... Id like to try these CG BB :)
