Restoring PC pads

I actually throw my pads in the wash on a delicate cysle with a few ounces of Castrol APC or Purple Power APC that I bought locally.

Warm wash with a cold rinse and they come out perfectly clean and smell free.

I know that you arent supposed to wash pads in the machine, but it works for me :D

Thats the same method I use now, previously used dishwash detergent, that was ok, but not great. This weekend, I used a drop of Meg's APC+, left to soak for a while and they came up great, just like new.

I fould that the APC dissolved the polish residue in the pad better than dishwash detergent and rinsed out with ease.

Okay, here it is !!

Clean your foam pads instantly and effortlessly. This works great.

I use the Hoover Deep Cleaning Carpet machine solution. I'll look up the exact name. It comes in a green jug that we got at a local home improvement store.

Anyway, just pour this stuff on your pads, squish it around and rinse under the faucet.

The pads will instantly be clean. (well, it actually takes 10 to 20 seconds)

FWIW, murphy's oil soap is the most effective pad cleaner that I have used. Makes dawn seem weak by comparison. [/B]

:up :up :up

I tried it last night for the first time. It cleans much faster, deeper, easier and rinses much better.

my pad that i use 26 yellow wax was bad....i tried rinsing out in water but when i would squeeze wax would come out...i would try to scrape it off but found this to time consuming  ...then i saw a bottle of oil & vinegar and thought that maybe soaked for long enough the wax(oil) would seperate because of the water so why not soak over nite in a hot water/dawn solution.... i was supposed to check it the next day but forgot:sosad 3 days later i checked and the bottom of the bucket had all the wax:bounce and my pad was wax free....now i could clean it ...so try letting it sit in a soap solution for a few days....however check it, change water every day and make sure pad doesnt touch bottom so it doesn't pick up the wax:xyxthumbs

Or you could try my method and have it clean in 30 seconds...
