Replacement for PG

Ok well I am looking for a replacement for my Power Gloss. I will be using a rotary.

I was thinking of getting HTEC. I know it doesn't have AS much cut.

Any and all suggestions welcomed.

*I* prefer IP with wool to SIP as SIP tends to lay the wool down and reduce the cutting ability. It could be that I used too much product.

Presta UCCL... it is a *dream* to use compared to PG or HTEC. I would say that using UCCL saves me a good 20 minutes-half hour per car over compounds that I've used in the past.

Thanks guys for the recommendations!:woot:

Where do you get your Presta products at Timmah? So you believe UCCL is a lot better than HTEC or PG? What makes it so wonderful to use if you don't mind me asking?

EDIT: I found Presta at pakshak.

I just want something to replace my Power Gloss. Because PG is just to chunky and clogs my pads too quickly.

I may have to go buy this Presta UCCL and try it out. Anyone got some samples before I drop $20 :)

Also, where does everyone get their wool pads from?

I get my UCCL and wool pads from a local bodyshop supply...Presta makes a great line of single sided and edge-compatible pads. I like green for swirl removal, yellow for scratch removal, and black for those "charge by the hour" jobs.

For the Presta polishes..try calling some of the paint and body shop supply shops....I get mine there and the presta wool pads ....and usally a few bucks cheaper than online

For wool, I love my Presta polishes also as I have been using them for 15 years. Also lately I have ben using the new 3M 3000 compound with wool for those nasty beat up Ford work trucks and it does an excellent job at removing scratches and bringing out gloss. It holds the dust in the wool and not over the car which is nice. I am not a big 3M person, but the 3000 line compound does work great even with wool. I will try the extra cut compound this week too and let everyone know how it works.

rydawg, how do you feel with presta polishes with foam LC pads?

Anyone having any samples of Presta polishes before i drop $20?

It works ok with foam, but honeslty there is better products for foam. For wool, Presta UCCL, 1500 polish, Swirl Remover polish work in perfect harmony.

I would give you some samples, but I am running low on my bottles and need to buy some more. They are worth the money and the best for wool in my long time testing experience.

Malco is the parent company of Presta and they make some fine products too. They have a deal with Edge, just like Presta - that gives you the recommended pads and speeds. I tried Presta 1500 on a foam pad and it really didn't work that well for me. I tried Malco Perfex and it worked very good with wool and foam. So in your quest - if they don't have Presta - see about Malco, I don't think you'll be disappointed. And I tried Malco Nano Polish this weekend ( PC - LC white pad) on a new Toyota van that the paint appeared dead, it really made it shine, I was temped to leave it at that (96 degree's) but I added a coat of wax before taking it to the customer.

Well, the Malco website leaves a lot to be desired. I had to e-mail them with questions and they replied the same day. I asked them to please update that site. You will be able to find a distributor there though.
