Repairs on Metallic Paint

I dont know if this was posted before but I will do so anyways. When repairing scratches or chips on metallic paint, please be sure to use the aerosol can to apply the paint (as opposed to the paint brush method). This is because if you apply metallic paint by brush, the metal chips will end up sinking to the bottom and you will get a much darker shade than intended and rubbing compound will not fix this. Tape off the area and spray lightly, feathering the spray. A claybar should be able to take off any unwanted overspray. All this was learned from the helpful man from the CMAX paint shop. I'll be asking a few more questions today when I pick up my paint.

Cheers

Can you use an airbrush to fix small paint defects? I have a paint bubble from something or other and i want to learn to fix it on my own but after reading your post about metallic paints i'm a bit weary. I intended to sand it down than use the toothpick method on the sanded down bubble. Its not a very big spot though. I have a 2002 electron blue metallic paint (ppg) Thanks.
