Repaint question

Wax Waster
My friend had a repair then repaint to his car. He was complaining about "gold flecks and gold patches" on the car. Brought it back to the body shop and he said they got some out. I looked at it tonight, and found that it looked like some of the gold metal flake had migrated to the top of the paint. I tried to clay it, and polish it. All it did was make the "flesk" shinier.

Do I need a more aggressive clay? IMHO it looked good after I clayed and polished it (just a test section). But I know that his eye will always see it.

As I am writing this, I am thinking tht this area is not what was repaired so it is either where they blended the paint or overspray. I do know that they butcherred the buffing when they tried to remove the flecks, so I am not really looking forward to polishing it out.

Ideas?

Blending a flake paint job is a nightmare very few come out looking right.
This is why I always buy a solid color the flake is nearly impossible to repair and look good.
