rental car company contracts.

At one time, I detailed for 5 Enterprise Rent A Car locations and use to charge them $35 to run through the interior fast. The key with rental companies is speed. They can't afford to have a car out of service very long. They use to drop off atleast 50-60 every weekend and I had to get them back by 8am Monday. It was a pain in the butt, but it added up big time.

thanks david! That helps alot, but my case would be to clean the interiors from stains. Met the manager (Enterprise as well) today and he wants a price list.

interested in this as well because of the same reason and same company out here

i have my website with prices, so what would wholesale be...like 20-40% off?

We do all the 'problem' cars for Enterprise in the Indy area. Mostly interiors, stains and odor. The occasional traffic paint...

We charge full price, and more. After all, the cars come to us because they are in need of real help.

It started with a few cars from a nearby branch, then the Area Repair Coordinator saw our work, and now we are the 'Detailer of Choice'.

Regarding the need for speed, sure, they want the cars on the road as soon as possible. But, they just pull up, unannounced, and hope we can get to it within a day or so.

Course, they take 30-60 days to pay...:work:

Any of you guys have one and what are your prices for interir work?

Any reply will be appreciated.

The price you charge for interior work should be based on the hourly rate you need to make in order for you to continue to make a reasonable profit and stay in business. For example, when you usually charge $90 for interior work; why would you want to do the same work and bring in less money per hour? That would not be a very smart way to run your business.

Volume!!!!! If they send you 100 vehicles per month and a full interior detail isn't required, would that be worth it? That's $3500 every month and $40,000 per year. How many detail businesses would turn down that level of volume/income from 1 account and never get graded on quality(because it isn't needed)? If you can swallow your pride with respect not turning out perfection(because it isn't needed) and you can make a very nice profit, that's a very smart way to do business. If you charge $90 for a full interior that takes 2-3 hours, $35 for 45 minutes of work(at most) can be very profitable.

Agreed!

Our local Enterprise locations are staffed with pretty understanding employees. They always call first, but they do want their stuff done ASAP, and they want the absolute cheapest price possible. We do the glass work for about 8 or 9 different Enterprise locations. They seem to be pretty easy to work with, but it is a chore to collect from them. If you do take on a rental fleet, make sure you get the car's Unit #, VIN, license plate and make sure to get a PO!
