Removing Snow

Anyone thought of trying a meguiar's wash brush?

I bought the OXO Snow Brush (w/ split bristles) from Autopia car care.. used it once so far. My plan is to be gentle and leave just a smal layer (1/4") of snow on the car. That should melt off/get off fast enough as I start driving.

I usually just leave it, and believe me, in Michigan, we get show. Last winter, the car lived outside and had a cover on it most of the time. I would just brush the show off the cover and then peel the cover off, it worked ok, but I didn't really like the idea of putting a cover over a semi-dirty car, and this obviously wont work for a work/school situation. I usually jsut do the glass, and if the snow is really deep just brush it off without hitting the paint, I usually leave myself a good inch of snow on there. Not a big deal, eventually here that layer just hardens into ice and I dont have to worry about it :D

P.S., if you think I'm joking about that last part with an inch of ice, I'm not. Welcome to the Winter Wonderland!

I use this sucker, works great to remove ice thats stuck on your paint! You just have to be a bit patient with it. I will give it a coat of AIO in the fall to help it glide across the paint.

Please tell me that was a gag! Once engine gets up to temperature, that hood ice can literally become a lethal weapon when it fly off your hood! :hairpull

I've seen soo many accidents and near accidents because do not clean off their vehicles properly before driving off.

That ice can easily come back and break your windshield or any car behind you causing a several back up.

It's like the one we've probably all seen of a driver hitting the brakes because either the snow for the hood or roof covering the windshield and the driver panics.

Please do all of us a huge favor and DRIVE SAFE. What's the point of having a saving a few scratches to only total the vehicle because of an accident related to negligence.

Living a skim layer of loose snow that will fly off by the time you get to a stop sign is one thing, ice and packed snow that typically only comes off a high speed or after a lot of warming is probably illegal.
