Removing motor oil from concrete?

I've been doing it for 8 years and never had a problem. My father has been doing it 40 years without a problem. I will say though that I usually wet the rag with water first and my boots are Electro-Static Dissipative. I'm not saying it could never happen, but I've yet to see someting work as quick and as well.

I routinely go over the driveway with Pour N Restore. I'm out there spreading each drop with a yard stick :o :D but it does it's job well, especially on some spilled brake fluid. :xyxthumbs:

Well I bought the Pour N Restore (but as thick as it is I think I would need gallons) and I'm doing a test spot now. Like I said it's a rental so I don't want to spend too much on it. I'll be able to see how it performed sometime later this weekend.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!

That's it, I'm completely refusing to allow any more maintenance/contractor trucks on my property. The last of my Pour N Restore is hopefully doing its magic on the rather extensive oil leak stains currenty left on my driveway. Off to Ace for more as well as more quick disconnects and shut off valves.

Will Pour N Restore work on stains of Coolant with Dex-Cool? I have a Olds minivan with the dreaded Gasket leak so there are a few rust colored stains on the driveway from the coolant drips.

I clean the stains with full strength simple green, and then I hose away. Once the stain (or what is left of it), I pour some full strength bleach on it for about 10-15 minutes, then hose away. It will basically get everything off. The remainder gets cleaned with the once a year pressure washing. :)

I have used a combination technique in the past. I put kitty litter on the oil spot. The cheap kitty litter is best. Getting the clumping stuff is a bad idea, IMHO. Then I pour a little paint thinner on the spot. If it is a deep stain, cover the mount of stuff with plastic tarp/bags to keep too much of the paint thinner from evaporating. Wait ~ 24 hours and it should get most of it.

FYI. You can use kitty litter on a new spill and it will keep it from staining.

I cleaned my garage floor with an emulsfier from Ben Moore Paint Company. It reacts with the oil and you rinse it away. This was to prep the floor for a concrete stain. I would imagine Sherwin Williams could offer you a similar product.

Worked great
