removing hard water build up?

How do you remove hard water build up? It seems to appear underneath the windows where it traps the water.

Is this what spot sanding pens are for? I do not want to scratch the paint off.

The vinegar would have to soak on the calcium buildup for awhile to remove it. I know vinegar sometimes removes color, would it not fade my paint?

Have you tried this?

~One manâ€â„¢s opinion / observations~

Using diluted / undiluted distilled white vinegar should not noticeably fade the paint colour.

Try soaking a towel, wring it out so the vinegar doesnâ€â„¢t run and place it on the water spots

This is the 'usual' remedy to remove surface water spots. Yes I've tried it.

~Hope this helps~
