Removing glass chalk!

Hey, I got a problem thats becoming a pain in the butt. I used glass chalk on the outside of my car because I was selling it. Unfortunatly it rained and now on the trunk and hood theres thousand of these little white dots that wont go away. I can stratch them off with my fingernail but that'll take 8 hours. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions. I tried everything short of buffing them out. Thanks

Ave you tried claying the spots? That would probably take care of it. If all else fails you could try vinegar, mineral spirits, and maybe even paint thinner... just be careful.

I second the clay. If that doesn't work some polish, even by hand, should work. It really depends on how long it's been sitting on there since it rained and whether it's been baked on in the sun. If polish doesn't work, I've used mineral spirits to take paint off a vehicle that hit an entire can of enamel paint in the road, so it should work for you, just be sparing.

I third the clay. If you can scratch them off with the fingernail, that's the route I'd take.

You can pick up a clay kit at Advance, Auto Zone, etc. Mother's California Gold and ClayMagic kits should be available to you pretty readily. For furhter instruction on the use of clay, I'd suggest doing a search. There's some pretty good threads out there about it.
