Removing dust.

Hi. I have a pretty nooby question about removing the dust from the car. I just cleaned my GTI two days ago, waxed it and today I already have a lot of dust on it. I don't want to put more swirls that I already have so I figured I'd ask here what is the best way to clean the dust without scratching the paint? If I take a MF towel and wipe the entire car of with it, will it work? Or maybe I should hose the car off every time there is some dust on it?Thanks for any advice guys.:2thumbs:
 
im interested in this as well, i had the car completely polished with OP, tried to wipe off the dust and caused marring all over the place and i was pissed. Any QD will do or should i just stick with Optimum spray wax?

I had one of those and believe it or not it worked great at first then it marred the paint to and left streaks
 
The duster will leave marks during the fest few uses. Its because of the excess wax. Like they say, the more you use it, the better it gets.
 
you should place the duster over a newspaper overnight, the newspaper will absorb the excess wax and you wont have the wax streak over your vehicles paint.

Any should do, just be sure to pick one that is compatible with whatever LSP you are using. I don't believe OCW is a QD. If you want to stick with the Optimum product line use ONR at the QD ratio.
 
I like to spray the surface alot to remove excess and then blot with an MF and finish with a light glide and then a quick wipe.



Works damn well.

Of course I have freedom one waterless now so I can use that in same manner as a QD
 
QD-ing on a dusty car is a dangerous proposition - especially if you have a dark colored car.



If you decide to do it - I recommend using a "waterless wash" QD like Poorboy's S&W or Werkstatt QuickWash instead of more traditional QD. Regular QDs having varying degrees of cleaning ability but most don't have nearly as much lubricity as PB S&W or Werkstatt QW.



SVR's recommendation on technique is good - use lots of product to provide plenty of lubrication and then blot with a very plush, high quality MF to avoid marring.
 
I use Jeffs Werkstatts Quick Wash for areas that are more dusty. Great stuff!



Other than that, CA duster works well, or a quick car wash.
 
oh man i parked my car at work this morning then noticed how absolutely dusting it got this morning (drove past a duster to lol)
 
As most of you know, my car is galaxy blue and that's quite dark and so far the worst I would do with that over a long period of time is baby swirls which chemical polish (spray) will take out by hand. The amount of lube I use in these circumstances is alot
 
I have a duster much like what zymol sells from detailersparadise.com. It works great so far. It's a very gentle duster that will works for light dust (the stuff that gathers from just sitting in the garage). For some reason pinnacle LS likes to attract dust.
