removing adhesive on tires

Will using products that contain petroleum distillates harm tires if used on occasion?

I have a tire that has duct tape on it, and when I removed the tape, the adhesive remained on the tire.

I was thinking about using 3M adhesive cleaner, but it contains petroleum distillates. I would think it wouldn't hurt anything if only used once or twice.

I was also thinking about using IPA.

Try scrubbing aggressively with a soap or something. Then try something designed for tires. Then you can try the adhesive cleaner. I don't believe that a short exposure to petroleum distillates will create any problems. It's not like you're dunking and soaking the tires in that stuff.
