Rejex.....

I am just curious what you guys think of Rejex as a product. For me i think it's a great sealant and lasts as long as anything i've seen but it doesn't get much discussion on here.

On corvetteforum in the car care section people swear by it.

I'm just curious if anyone on here has any experience with it and/or if they have any opinions they'd like to share or products that may outperform Rejex.....as i'm always looking for something better.

I plan on using Rejex on both of my SUV's for the winter unless you guys have another suggestions.....

Thanks

Ahh yes Rejex. That use to be my go to stuff for my 2006 Toyota Tacoma Lifted 4 Door truck. Mind you it was black. Rejex without a doubt had some durability especially since my truck sat in the sun all day everyday.

I still have a couple bottles in my arsenal now. Pretty straight forward and easy to use. I'm surprised not many people like you mentioned talk about it on here, but IMO i works great.

I was going to ask if you posted on the corvetteforum because that's the only place where I've seen people hump the product to death :grinno:

Never tried it myself, so don't know.

In terms of sealents, so far the best one I've found (atleast imho) is blackfire wet diamond w/ polycharger. Unfortunately I have to start my test over again on it because my foam totally stripped it from my dd, lol.

Remember Car and Driver used it on half of a long term test Audi A4 and they didn't wash it for a month and the side with the RejeX just hosed clean. Not sure how detail oriented these guys are/were but sounds good to me..

This product just has not got much hype here on autopia, but I am not sure if that means anything..?

Helsinki Finland Rules :D

My girls uncle also swears by it. He noticed how I was with my autos and for Christmas last year got me a bottle but haven't used it yet. Thinking about throwing it on the truck before the snow hits here.

I am one of the ones on here that actually prefers Rejex over most sealants. It is durable, looks great, and is easy to apply/remove. It's a win win.

Simply spoken. Some people like it and some don't.

I've used it as well. What concerned me most was that incredible initial slickness quickly disappeared and was no better and no worse than many other sealants out there. Frankly, I find something like FK's 1000p or Collinite 476s to be a more satisfying, long-term experience.

I, too, bought the stuff when C&D offered their strongest endorsement. I suspect they have little to compare it to in terms of E-Z clean up and don't believe they are regularly waxing their loaner cars ;) I have never found a product that allows a clean surface by simply rinsing with a garden hose Anyone else? :secret

More info on your suspension setup and wheels? PM me if you don't wanna clutter up the thread!

Rejex probably saved my paint on my car. I drove through a lasting swarm of love bugs in Florida/Alabama and they covered the entire front of the car. When I got out of the swarm about 100 miles later (yeah, that's right, a hundred miles of bugs hitting your car like rain), they all rinsed off at a car wash with just the water spray.

A few things I noticed about Rejex:

1. When applying, it doesn't clean or polish at all, it just coats and seals, waterspots and all.

2. Shine is pretty good, but not the best ever.

3. When it is new, it is super slippery, but doesn't last the whole 4 months the bottle says it should. It does last for a few months, though.

4. It does help the car clean up much easier. When I go on a trip and the car gets a little dirty, a quick stop and spray off at a car wash gets most of the bugs and dirt off very easily.

5. Bug guts don't destroy the paint. This is worth the cost of admission by itself.

Overall, I really like the stuff. Lasts for 3 months, helps protect the paint, and shines up pretty well.

Mmmmm...Protein.

I've been wondering about that Rejex stuff.

Hatchman: Could you clarify your post? You say it didn't last the claimed 4 months, but then say it lasts "several" months. It seems several and 4 would be the same, if not more.

I've got a funny sealant story. I put about a dozen coats of Klasse SG on my Passat via the WOWO method, and recently tried removing it with 91% IPA and some heavy rubbing. The slickness eventually seemed to wear away after a while so I figured it worked. Until the next day when I went out there and it felt slick again! WTF? The area I rubbed down feels only slightly less slippery than the surrounding heavily coated paint. Did the IPA evaporate and the SG recombined? Is it alive like some kind of Terminator android finish that recombines itself? I sure don't know. I was just trying to see if I could strip the sealant before I machine polish it, but now I'm afraid... :nervous:
