Refrigerating waxes...

I just got a tub of Zymol Carbon today and it says to refrigerate after opening...

I've heard about that before but wasn't really clear on it, so today I want to find out for sure...

What waxes should be refrigerated and at what temp?

I have P21S, NXT, Natty's Blue and the Zymol as paste... should liquid waxes also be refrigerated?

What about KSG ?

Thanks

Probably has something to do with the wax softening and/or melting under room or higher temperatures. My take is that if any wax is so fragile that it needs to be refrigerated before it melts/softens, why would you want it anywhere near the paint? Clearly those waxes are not made for protection!

And, AFAIK, no other manufacturers recommend such babying of their waxes. I guess most figure their formulas are not so fraile...

Sounds a little crazy, but how funny would that be to open up a buddies fridge and find detailing supplies!! LOL.

If the label says to do it, go for it, but as for the others, I don't see why you would need to.

"what? I didn't buy any butter! uh-oh. Umm, bro, let's take a trip to the hospital..."

It is not essential to refrigerate Zymol waxes, but i do keep mine refrigerated. The idea is that a cool, dark place is beneficial to the shelf life of the EnZyme-Emolient mixture.

There would be no benefit to refrigerating any of the other waxes that you mention,as they have a petroleum distilate/highly refined distilate base.

There is no specific temperature, the only guideline would be a normal household refrigerature, and the best place is the 'medium' coldest area.

I think that would qualify as the most expensive piece of buttered toast if it was Royale in the fridge....

After using XXX Hardcore this weekend at the Tampa Meet, many people wanted to put it on toast and eat it the way it smelled.

I've been told that it's best to refrigerate Zymol after opening but not necessary. The idea is to store the wax in a relatively cool environment where the temperature stays consistent. :)
