"Reflective" wax?

The New Mothers FX Synwax.



I'm sorry but I haven't tried either of them before S100, so I can't comment on its appearance. Logically, you'd get better durability using AIO as a base.
 
S100 is very reflective. I usually use AIO as a base but on well-maintained paint, S100 SEC is a great base for it. May actually look better than the AIO/S100 combo which is reflective to the point that the color gets washed out. SEC/S100 gives very good reflection (slightly less but of better quality than AIO/S100) but with a deeper shine (but still not as deep as AIO/Souveran).
 
I'm on the other side of that fence, I seldom use AIO under anything except KSG. Not a right/wrong thing, just personal preference.



I sometimes find that AIO will slightly darken the look of some finishes. Not what I think 05 Sleeper is after here.



For max reflections, I wouldn't want anything between my final polishing stage and my LSP, not even something like AIO. Either the Menzerna PO85RD or the P21S/S100 stuff (or maybe VM) then LSP is the way I'd do it.



FWIW, VM topped with P21S was *too* reflective on my XJS, gave a look I didn't care for on that car (which has weird paint and I'll admit I'm, uhm, unique :o about how I want it to look).
 
hmmm.... what to do, what to do... lol Maybe I will try the FX.. what do I really have to lose, right?



As far as the AIO, I thought that it was actually going to "brighten" up the paint as oppesed to darken it, and I thought that VM would do the exact opposite...



I would love to do the Zaino thing (for looks only) then I may as well try th FX, if people say it gives a similar look.



What do you think?
 
You can always try both on different sides of the car, or choose different panels to use different products on.



The zaino lasts a while so if you are plannin to change one to another, keep that iin mind.
 
I have a silver Audi and I have to say that the FX provides an excellent look. Very reflective, good wetness, and very slick to the touch. The look improves about 24 hours after application for me.

Using the FX Spraywax after washing seems to enhance the look, getting it more liquid.

Let us know what you use and how it works.
 
I am just windering if I should use it over AIO or not... I am also wondering what the diference will be bvetween the synwax and UPP...

I know its alo of coats of different things but i just cant stop experimenting.



I have not added anything else in the past 2 weeks because i am very happy with the how well the flakes pop as well as the current wetness (the best i have been able to obtiain). will probably continue to add a coat of OCW once a month.

hmmm... bought the synwax.. what to do now... AIO or not?
 
AIO could be a good base because it has its own reflectivity. Then FX, and if you want to make it really durable, throw a few coats of #845 over it. The FX & #845 is terrific looking, very reflective and durable combo!!! The Collinite doesn't change the appearance of the FX, and very shiny on its own too.

well, i just did the car with SYnWax and the finish is VERY shiney and reflective, but I am not sure if I like the look just yet. SOme have said that it tends to look better after 24 hours, so I will wait and see. If not, then I am going to try topping with with S100.
 
:lol Well you did ask for THE most reflective wax. As i said, it has the Zaino look - which isn't everyones cup of tea. :)



Good idea to wait and see how it looks tomorrow. S100 is a good topper.



Actually, come to think of it, one or two on Mothers forum said they felt as you do, so they used FX Spray Wax after the first wash and loved the look...they finally got the look they wanted.



I haven't tried FX spray wax but they say it lowered the shine slightly and increased depth and wetness, without losing its reflectiveness.

Jason, another thing to keep in mind is that its partially layerable. I always do two coats of anything, 24 hours apart, and the look improves regardless of claims of non-layerability (if that's a word!)



Try FX x2 and see if it gives you a better/different look. If not, it'll atleast give you better durability.
