reflections car wash

has anybody treid the reflectiosn car wash? i had not seen it in any store, and could nto find any post about it?

the car and motorcylce crowd around here hangs out in a shopping mall parking lot, and a dude came around saying he was sponsored by mothers and had some stuff he was selling wel he had a trunk full of stuff all new in the box for about 50% off reg prices, so i bought some of the reflections wash, a couple of jars of aluminum polish and a few bottles of qd

i plan to use the wash tommorow so i will post a review

I have also had a guy ask me if I wanted to get any. He said he had some in the back of his truck. Along with a bunch of other stuff. What a coincidence! I have to say I didnt buy anything from him.

Let us know how it works.

It was a very sudsy car wash, and yes, I would have put it up against any available retail car wash in that timeframe.

I'd be curious as to who this dude was, since we discontinued that car wash several years ago. If we sponsor people, they don't sell product (We don't give them THAT much, and they don't buy from us.) for us.

Sounds to me like he bought some old stuff at a closeout place and was out pedalling it.

Forrest,

As I was inquiring about this product last week, I first learned of it then by viewing it on 2 sites that are still selling it now. Old stock eh.

Around here, the "out of the trunk" thing was an organized scam..er, I mean..business. My friend, this was about 20 years ago, when he was young and naive (wait....he's still naive...but that's a different story) answered a help-wanted ad in the paper, for selling electronics. On the interview, they didn't tell him much except that he would be involved in sales, he had to have a driver's license, and a registered and insured car that he was willing to use for work, and he could have the job, report next morning.

He shows up, is paired up with an "experienced" employee, and instructed to bring his car to the loading dock. They fill up his trunk with radios, tape players, etc., and give him a company document listing all the stuff that has been put in his car.

His "partner" tells him to get in and drive. I believe the first stop was a gas station, where they park and go shoot the breeze for a while with some of the employees, then the partner says "hey, you guys like music? I've got some great stuff in the car..." Later, the partner decides it's time for a drink, and into a local bar they go...some beer, some pool, some small talk with the guys in the bar. The small talk ends with "hey, you guys like music?"

Later in the day, my friend and his "partner" get grilled/run off by the local police for peddling without a license...fortunately the list of stuff proved it wasn't hot...one day was enough for him on this job.

Apparently, this still goes on. And you thought mobile detailing was a weird way to make a living?

forest when i talked to the guy you where the first person i thought about..... well not that this means anything but he had several mothers stickers on his car, some small emblems on the rear windows, and a www.mothers.com sticker on the back window (maybe he is like the guy in the wendys commerical so much of a fan he feels like he works for you) i have seen him before and is always on the car show/ racing scene here.

and both of his cars, a beutifull 84 buick regal that looks brand new, and a 2000+ tahoe are always spotless so i thought he really could be sponsored

and i paid cash , the stuff all looked brand new example when the mag and aluinumn polish sits for a while a copper film raises to the top it did not have this also all the product had the newer labels on it, and it was in a mothers card board box, like the one they ship orders to stores in

the only thing was some of the stuff was priced to high he wanted $10 for the regular car wash in the 32 oz bottle

and 14 for the duration tire dressing

opps the review. even though i guess its pointless cause they dont sell it any more

the wash works pretty good, smells like hair shampoo, i was not impressed with the amount of sounds but we have really hard water here. but it was no where the amount i get form gold class or eagle one or even mothers regular line

but it is the most effective i have seen at removing bugs. i was will probally use it just for that, i usaully will gently wipe areas that have bugs on them and then wash other parts and come back to the pre treated areas because we have a major bug problem and i travel in the costal areas a lot (gotta love living in the Carolinas) but with this was it required much less wipping /rubbing then any other wash i have used i was very impressed

it sheeted water very good, not quite as good as 1zpearls but better then gold class, eagle one, the regular mothers

it did a really good job remove the bulk of the road film/dirt on the car

over all i was very happy my only complaints are the lack of actaully suds even though the lubricity (sp) seems above average and my second complaint is that it was very hard to rinse the wipped of dirt from the wash mit, i would have to say that its the worst of the above products in that regard.

all in all i like it and it seems to be very close to 1zpearls in sheeting / which i consider the reference standard in that regard

and will be my new standard for bugs /tar etc

and as good as gold class for lubricity and general cleaning power...sorry for the long post b ut tits my first product review and since it seems i have bene the only one to use it i wanted to make it detailed

The guy that I was refering to was definetly trying to pedal it. I had seen him before trying to sell it at a local auto parts store and also in a Walmart parking lot. This is where he saw me doing my work mobile. He thought that he could sell me a lot of it since I would "go through a lot of it!" Funny how I showed him the new Megs 400:1 concentrate. I told him this would last me long enough and he couldnt sell me the mothers stuff cheap enough. (I am not knocking Mothers stuff at all. Just trying to make a point.)
