Red Gatorade stain on carpet

So I've got a red Gatorade stain on tan carpet. Folex didn't touch it. I found another thread on here where some success was had using Red Relief. The big question I have is that I don't have an extractor. Will I be able to make any meaningful progress on this with Red Relief and a shop vac? Or am I going to be better off taking it somewhere to see what they can do with it professionally?

If you have a DA, I recommend getting some carpet brushes. Mix of folex with very warm water, apply it to the carpet and let it soak in for awhile. Then, apply some more and use the appropiate carpet brush to try and remove the stain.

I actually have a DA and carpet brushes. I was a little hesitant to try that approach because I didn't want to turn the whole carpet pink by spreading the stain around if it did start to come up. So I just used Folex and agitation with a small brush by hand so far. I'm not so sure that's a valid concern after I saw that the Folex made literally no improvement in the stain when used by hand.

You think I should give Folex another go with the DA and carpet brush?

BTW, this is the thread I found where someone else had no luck with Folex on Gatorade: http://www.autopia.org/forum/click-brag/122943-saturn-vue-full-detail-plus-gatorade-stain.html

I've also seen that Artificial Dyes (Kool-Aid, Gatorade, etc) WILL require special cleaners like Red Relief. Never used any of them myself though.

You can use a shop vac and a spray bottle with hot water to rinse the red dye remover. It would be a pain but way cheaper than buying an extractor. The whole point of the extractor is to rinse the cleaning agent(prespray) out of the carpet so it doesn't attract more soil to the spot.
