recommendations for wheel brushes?

i have a decent brush for doing the exterior of rims/tires...and also one that is ok for interior rim work (if it can fit inside the rims).



any recommendations for small brushes to get inside rims with crazy spokes, etc and get to the entire inside of the rims? it's hard to tell by looking at pics online of what the actual size is.

I don't know about specific sizes, but the Meguiar's wheel brushes seem to be praised pretty consistently.
 
I have have been using that Meg's wheel brush for awhile now and am looking for something else. It's really to soft to really remove anything. I end up pushing a sponge around inside the wheel and the difference is night and day.
 
Yeah, that EZBrush is good for the insides of some wheels, on others I use swabs and sponges. I'd be a little careful on very nicely finished wheels though, it's a bit on the coarse side. I don't use it on the S8 or the Jag, for instance.



For the front faces I use BHBs from Griot's and/or others. I use the smaller ones from Griot's (pn 15520) for around lug nuts/valvestems/etc. They rinse clean no matter *what* kind of stuff you get on them.



If you use plastic-bristle brushes, make sure you inspect them carefully before each use. As the flagged tips of the bristels wear down they'll eventually become scratch-machines. Note that this also happens to the BHBs, but the resulting unflagged bristles aren't *nearly* as harsh as plastic bristles. I finally gave up on plastic bristle brushes when my inspection failed to catch some unflagged bristles and I severely marred a set of BBS wheels :o No such (serious) issues since switching to BHBs.
 
For tire, bulk of wheel and well I use some green bristle brushes that I get from automagic. When they wear down I use them to apply dressing. For inside of wheel and well I use those blue rubbermaid brushes from Target, looks like a handled stick with corded material on it. The sponge thing above is something I'd like to try though. Only thing I don't like about the rubbermaid brush is the shaft that holds the cords is metal and you have to be careful not to hit the tip going through the wheel openings. I lightly scratched a wheel one time. It polished out fine but something to watch out for. Most of the weekly cars I clean, I use soapy water, mf towel and that rubbermaid brush if my hand can't fit through the wheel.

Not enough bristles , foam and then bristles and more of them would be better

I got a lambswool wheel brush recently and having some success with it



With most brushes, the shampoo will not lather up when using them

So I use a combo of the lambswool and a sea sponge.



However that power puff sounds good

Something you might try...either buy a bottle of Bucketless Wash or make one up..and spray the brush as you work. This works great for spokes on bike wheels.
