I got the new Detailer's Pride samples and have been playing around with them. Pretty decent so far, the polishes are top notch. The Spray Sealant is pretty slick and super easy to use and the Premium Surface Shield is very easy to use despite the bottle's caution it is a thick liquid.

First up, my kids detailed this golf cart. My older boy cleaned the seats and rubber floors and my other son washed it, cleaned and dressed the wheels (Armor All) and polished it with #80 by hand and topped with the new version of PB's EX w/carnauba.

2004 Ford Excursion. Lots of light scratches from the tunnel car wash he used to take it to but otherwise still in okay shape from it's last deep detail in the fall. I had used EX w/carnauba and it was still lightly beading. Not sure if he was getting the spray wax at the tunnel wash though.

I used Detailer's Pride Super Swirl Eliminator with a burgandy Meguiars cutting pad, Final Finishing Polish with a yellow Meguiars polishing pad, and topped with the new Poorboy's EX w/carnauba by hand. The DP products did a nice job on the scratches and left the paint clear, reflective and wet. EX did a nice job adding depth.

2003 Chevy Silverado SS. Regular customer, I am the only one who washes it. It is at the office with the water deionizer so I conventionally wash it instead of using QEW. I last waxed it with Race Glaze's Polish/Sealant on December 8th and I took this picture on June 8th. As you can see, it is still beading, but the beads are no longer round and tight. Paint looks pretty decent but slickness is gone. Still, pretty decent for a one step and we had a pretty wet early winter.

It really needs some polishing but since he will be regularly going out on dirt roads for the next few months, he wanted to wait until fall for me to go nuts on the paint. I just applied EX w/carnauba by hand.

2002 GMC Yukon XL. Last detailed on a cold January day then spent a semester at Notre Dame. Just driven back this last weekend to his parent's house and it was caked in bugs. In addition, he had been in an accident and the front end had some light rotary swirls from the body shop. I used Detailer's Pride Super Swirl Eliminator (SSE) with a burgandy Meguiars cutting pad, Final Finishing Polish (FFP) with a yellow Meguiars polishing pad, Premium Surface Shield (PSS) by hand. The SSE did a great job on the rotary swirls. I wanted to get some good before and afters but the sun was peaking in and out of clouds all day and even with my kids helping it still took more than 4 hours to detail it inside and out. I just really didn't have time to wait on the sun to reappear and filter through the trees at the right angle to get the shots. :(

The only problem with the SSE is the dusting, maybe a bit more than DACP, so we had to wipe it down with a slightly damp MF before moving on to the FFP. After polishing the paint looked really good. The PSS really didn't alter the look other than some additional wetness and depth. I didn't notice any deepening effect at all. In addition, it spreads very easily and wipes off with very little effort after waiting (as instructed) 30 minutes before removal.

Nice work, as usual!

I love that you have golf carts to detail... How much does one of those puppies get detailed for? It hardly seems it'd take an hour. :D

Hey Scott,

Great details! Your kids are better than 99% of people out there already too.

Do you think FFP is a good AIO replacement, other than the protection aspect. Seems like a nice mild cleaner just to wipe the slate clean, and not really do much polishing. Looking for something to use between PO85RD applications, but with hardly any abrasives. Will top with FMJ.

Also, wondering how you would compare Premium Surface Shield (PSS) which similar liquid polymers like FMJ, UPP, Wolfgang, etc.

TIA!

kick a$$ work as usual...you ever think of doing photo shoots for car magazines??

That was my intention when I was taking photojournalism in college but the $315 a week Jack in the Box was offering me to become an assistant manager (mid 80s) was more tempting than transfering to East Texas College and finishing college. Live and learn, I guess.

7 of my customer's cars are on the back cover of the Guru Wax Test. :)

animes2k-we charged him $50 for the golf cart. Took just over an hour.

JustinTRW-the appearance of FFP is similar to Vanilla Moose, clear and reflective. Not nearly as slick though but since you would be using a wax or sealant over it, slickness isn't that important in a glaze as smoothness would be.

Obviously, I have no real first hand knowledge of the durability of PPS but they claim 3-4 months. Optimistic or underpromising? Won't know for a while. Appearance-wise, seems to be more sealant looking than carnauba looking, clear, wet and reflective. Depth is decent but not super liquid like carnaubas. It really makes metallic paint pop. Very easy to use, spreads thinly with no problems, wipes off about as easy as Wolfgang does, IMO.

Wow..an Autopian in the making by getting your golf cart detailed. Very kewl.

Great work as always Scott. :up

BEAUTIFUL work as always Scott!! :xyxthumbs There were so many SUV's and full size trucks in this thread that I was getting tired just reading it!!

You're dirt’s worst enemy!

How large is your photo collection these days? I really enjoy seeing your work. It looks like you wipe them down with olive oil!

I have a few of the new DT products but haven't had time to play with them yet. How do they compare to Optimum, Menzerna, PB's polishes? I heard they were made specifically for the PC.

Would you say the PSS is kinda EXPish? I like the polishes, but they did gum up on me once or twice!

Exceptional as always Scott! I'm looking forward to using my DP samples which are the MSE, FFP and the PSS. I'll be watching to see how the PSS holds up against the SG on my car.

Will post my review soon if the weather cools off a bit.

I have 8 full photo albums (they hold something like 200-250 pics each) and several boxes of photos too. I just keep one album in my car to show new clients and rotate out pics as I take new ones.

The Super Swirl Eliminator is pretty aggressive, at least as aggressive as 2.5 or DACP. I would agree they seem specifically made for the PC because of how well the SSE works with the burgandy Meguiars pad. Didn't noticed any marring on the Expidition or Yukon. Seems to finish down almost as nicely as #80 or Optimum.

SilvaBimma-PSS does seem more like an EX-P or Zaino in appearance, real clear and wet. Excellent reflections too.

I haven't noticed any gumming, try cutting back a bit, especially with FFP. It really doesn't take much to polish out a panel or a door.
