Despite the ugly, cool, windy and damp days, I am hard at work...mostly anyway!



I mentioned a long day on Sunday in the shout box and I wasn't kidding. 2002 Tahoe and F250 on a cool, windy day and this guy's house is the highest point in the neighborhood.



I used Meguiars #20 Polymer Sealant and NXT Wax on both. The Tahoe needed some very minor blemish removal and for that, I used DACP.

Notice in every picture except the Sequoia, there are ugly gray skies. Winter can't end quickly enough. :angry

Now that you have been using NXT on top of several glazes and sealants, what is your favorite combo on light colors and what is your favorite combo on dark colors?

This is the Escalade ESV that I used AIO/UPP on in early January, so when he told me to wax it again earlier this month, I simply applied a coat of NXT. BTW, the AIO/UPP combo was beading nicely. Noticed the dropped stance... :cool:

Vanilla Moose and NXT on light (although it looks good on dark paint too) and American Shine's CCC glaze on dark. Vanilla Moose has a more reflective shine and CCC looks wetter, IMO. #20 and NXT looks pretty good to when used on paint already in very good to excellent shape (or after proper prep).

That Escalade is Sweet! :cool: I will be prepping my 7 for BimmerFest West in Santa Barbara comming this May 1st and I think that I will go for either AIO, SGx3 and then topp with NXT or VM topped with NXT. Any Suggestions?



I have said this before, If you ever are passing through Southern California and can stop in Santa Barbara, I would love to get together and detail some rides!

You'd have to stretch out AIO/SGx3/NXT over a longer period than VM/NXT but the first option would be more durable. I'd also consider SFP #82/Polymer Sealant #20/NXT if you want to try all Meguiars.

I'd love to get out to California. I haven't been there since I went out to Pasadena in 1986.

Thanks for the input! I really would like any suggestions for the best, wettest, shiniest, most reflective look I can get for titanium silver metallic. I am trying to get it to look the best it can for BimmerFest West!



Longevity is not really a concern for my 7 as it is not a daily driver and is always in the garage at night.

the red Tahoe really looks nice. Some of the GMs look very respactable when all cleaned up.



I don't know how "bad" the majority of these vehicles are you work on. What are typical repsonses when the owner comes to pick up their car/truck? Are people dismayed?

If I can get as much work as you do, maybe I won't be on Autopia as much!:D Stinky weather up here in the northeast is the culprit!



However, this week has been very good, so now I am booked!:bounce



I'm going to try some CCC next week for the first time.



I have an Explorer and a Impala on Friday, and I am going to do the VM/NXT combo.:xyxthumbs
 
Scottwax, your work is unbelievable as usual! But I bet you could use turtl wax and still produce amazing results, you have the "gift".

The newer GMs seem to have really good paint. I've detailed S600s with more orange peel than most of the GMs I've cleaned over the last few years.

Dismayed? Huh? Most of the vehicles I work on are not trashed (I have cleaned some really nasty stuff though-see my thread about swirled and oxidized vehicles in this forum). My regular weekly customer's vehicles don't get bad because I stay on top of them.



BTW, no one picks up their vehicle since I am mobile. They come outside and see it. ;)

None. He lives out in the country so I had to do it all in one day. Actually, probably 60 minutes or so. After I applied and removed #20, I cleaned the floor mats and dressed the fenderwells (so if there was any overspray that got on the paint, I could wipe it off before applying NXT.
