nice work BTW,, Scott wax is right, that rear fender shot is amazing!!

O4cobra. Wow, really nice looking work on both cars.

I have a few questions for you....

- What was your impression of the Optimum polish (likes/dislikes)?

- How does the new mustang drive/handle? I'm turning in my lease in a few months and that's on my short list.

Thanks for sharnig the products, process and pictures.

steck: They come with Pirelli from the factory. But I work for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and traded those in for the 18" tires waiting for wheels. So we threw on these tires for under $400 and got $1000 tires for $75.:D These tires are actually just as good as the pirelli's IMO. Good eye for noticing BTW. Thanks for the compliment on the rear fender shot, I was hoping you guys would like it, I thought it was cool!

mgm121499: Thanks:xyxthumbs

--Intitial thoughts of the Optimum polish, top quality product. I have not yet been able to use it as an all around polish. Meaning as a cutting polish and finishing polish on the same car, which is supposed to be it's strong suit. It works very well with the PC, Rotary, and cyclo. Using it with the Cyclo makes for a very nice combo of machine and polish. I used a little while back on Singl Stage paint and was very impressed. Check back a little ways in the Click & Brag for my last post. Some people have found it a little difficult to remove, but I have not had such an experience. I'm a Menzerna fan, so a polish to make it into my arsenal it has to be pretty good! If you have not used the OCW, get both and you will be very pleased. Specialty Motoring has a great combo deal on his website!:D

--The new Mustang is very impressive. With that said though it cannot hold a candle to the past 03/04 Cobra and Mach 1's. The new Mustang is pretty quick for stock. Before the exhaust I hung right with a TA with a shift kit, exhaust, and intake, bot bad a GT mustang that's stock! It handles very well and has good torque for pulling out of the corners. The ride is very nice. Very smooth on the freeway but nice and stiff on the streets for some spiriting driving. They really did a nice job on them this time. Overall I would give it an A for the pirce and what you get!

SilverLexus: Thanks Silver. This thing will be one of the cleanest 05 Mustangs out when we are done. Once we get their I think all of you guys will agree.

Thanks for the nice words all!;)

The cars look awesome :D

One question... what is this Adam's Throw Away dressing you speak of? Is it a dressing your trying to get rid of? lol or a new one they are comming out with?

Very nice work Kyle.

I'm liking the Optimum as well. It's so damn easy to use once the prep is done :).

Exhaust looks great...and you are insane @ 8 coats of TS :lol

dcswd: Thanks. Actually it is a dressing that Adam designed that came out a little bit too glossy for his taste, but I like it. It's a lot like BnB, but with some more gloss. I really like it. You can get it from Adam, they have a couple of cases laying around so if you just shoot him an email he may be able to set you up!

Sean: Optimum in general is really impressing me, have you used the Wash? If not, you really need to try it! I had to put enough layers on thing, trade secret is such an impressive product. What I like is it seems to keep the dust away very well. And for Black, we all know how important that is!!

Thanks everyone!:p

the car is shinier than the muffler tip. :D

wow, both your altima and your mom's stang look great. RMG + TS is an awesome combo. and nice mods. i think you might want to look into getting a Superchip Custom Tuning custom tune chip. i think that plus 4.10 gears, exhaust, and sticky tires put a GT into the 12's. :bow

Thanks Reid.:D I don't think she is going to want to do the chip and all, but you never know. I reall want to put the C&L intake and Daiblo programmer on it, but I will need to do a little more convincing. But I will keep trying, you never know!

if anything, have your mom get either the Diablo tuner or the SCT one. and for any of the mods, tell her it'll increase her gas mileage......so long as you aren't flooring it all the time! ;)

so do people call her mustang sally now? :p

I'll keep working on it Reid, I have to get past my hard headed Father as well! She only goes through a quarter of a tank a week with the thing, she just goes from work to home. I on the other hand, go through a half a tank on the nights on the weekends!:D

No they don't call her Mustang Sally, but I call her Mustang Judy!:p

BTW Reid, I'm looking into getting a Mach 1 myself! Any yay or nay on purchasing one in your opinion? Are you pretty happy with yours? Wait, let me think, nice fast car and live in Hawaii. Nevermind, you have a bias opinion! :rofl

maybe you can sneak some of the mods in. "son, what are you doing?" "oh nothing mom, just checking the oil....." ;)

yeah, i think you'll know how i'll respond about the Mach1. ;) but if you can find one, i think it would be a great buy (depending on the price).

- 308/310 hp (auto/manual tranny) DOHC V-8.

- 3.55 gears in the rear end.

- suspension is tuned differently, not as harsh as a GT, a comfortable ride yet handles pretty well, Tokico struts/shocks.

- 13" front rotors.

- bolted sub-frame connectors (not the greatest, but it's better than nothing).

- "g-load" brace (i just discovered that recently when i was changing my oil) - i think this is to brace the k-member.

- special grill delete. i like it better than the grills on a GT.

- front spoiler air dam.

- the stripes, way cool! :D

- nice interior with retro-styled instrument cluster, comfort weave seats that are nicely bolstered.

- of course, you can't forget about the shaker! :xyxthumbs and just remember, if one side is starting to show signs of wear, you're hitting the gas too hard!!!! ;)

basically i like to think of it as a 1999 or 2001 cobra with a solid rear end. if you do get one, i think you'll love it. yeah, it doesn't have the same power as a cobra, but drop in a supercharger and you'll probably be close or even more in terms of horsepower. and if it is your daily driver and you get a 5-speed manual, it'll probably be easier on your leg. well that is what i heard. i wouldn't know since i got an auto. :o

is that enough reasons for you? :rofl

That last shot of the altima looks awfully familiar :o

Nice work though all around, I really like the tint on your mom's stang. I'm not 100% but is the Basani exhaust the one that sounds like your running open pipes? One kid in the next town over had a GT that we believed had a Basani on it and it sounded insane, it definately had a more aggressive and open noise then my friend's GT who had a Magnaflow down pipe and Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust on his.

Looking forward to trying out RMG once finals are done :doh

hirosh:There is a chic local to me that has an Azure mach that's lowered and has full catless exhaust, man that thing sounds crazy! I'm sure my leg would feel better with the Mach clutch, the Cobra was a little stiff at first, but you kind of get used to it! But I do have to say that my left calf is larger than my right calf, still!;) Oh and yes I will love to have another shaker hood. I really liked the one on my 1970 Mach 1, and yes I know about the paint missing on the one side.

Burlyq:Thanks Burly. I have to say the combo did a nice job. Of course FPII is very nice by itself, but that damn RMG is so nice. I was very pleased how the Cyclo did with a mild polish on the swirls. But I am getting the itch to get rid of all of the swirls, so I may have to tear through the 8 layers of TS!:p

JohnnyDaJackal:Thanks JdJ.

What do you mean the last shot looks framiliar, Scottwax has never had a picture like that!:nervous: In all honesty that pic is an accident. I was doing some spot fixes on a co-workers car on my lunch break and saw the reflection out of the corner of my eye. Sorry but I had to take it, I thought it really showed off what I see in person!

The tint was kind of risk, but I thought it would look cool and I was hoping MOm would like it. I think it looks good, cuz' it's not as dark as say the GTO covers and AutoZone and that, but it's noticeable!

The Bassani has the most distinct sound I have ever heard. Nothing else sounds like it IMO. It does sound like straight pipe, but not as loud. One thing that I like is there is no crackling on decel. or shifting. It has an extremely aggressive exhaust note and ver, very deep. All in all it was a great risk. The exhaust is very quiet when on the freeway with the cruise control on, no drone at all. But if you drop it a couple of gears to get around a slower vehicle, it just screams. For me it's a little quiet for the freeway part. but for my MOM it's perfect. And that's all that matters! Put an X-pipe on with Bassani and my God, just insane. I am going to the Mustang shop where I purchased the exhaust tomorrow, and see if they want to take a video of it for their site. If it happens I will post a link when it becomes available!!

oh yeah, i forgot about the exhaust. pretty nice tone for factory. for me, it's a perfect, distinctive tone, but it would be better if it was just a little louder. but after having 2-chamber flowmasters on my '89, i'm kinda tired of the loud exhaust. i guess i'm getting old or something. :p and there's nothing like the 32-valve screaming towards redline! :woot:

that full catless Mach1 must sound nuts! but who knows, maybe when the shelby gt500 comes out, there'll be a lot of used '03-'04 cobras for sale! :xyxthumbs

Yes it does, and it's a chic that will race anything and everything!

I'm hoping there will be some cheap 03/04 Cobras next year, maybe a Mystic!:D
