03COBRA

I miss my 03 Cobra......
Yes, the title car will be the last, so if you can't wait, scroll down and come back!:D

First up, my car!

I have recently been very pleased with OCW as a stand alone on my silver Altima. So I thought I would share some pics of it on silver to help people get an idea of what it looks like on Silver. Paint was in good shape so it was just a simple clean up!!

My Process:

-Wash w/Optimum Car Wash (Great stuff BTW)

-Poorboy's Clay w/Optimum Car Wash for lube

-Optimum Polish via Rotary and LC polishing pad @ 1500 RPM

-OCW applied and removed an Adam's MF

-Poorboy's APC on wells

-Poorboy's Bug Squash on front bumper and lower panels

-Adam's Throw Away dressing on tires and wells

-Poorboy's Wheel Sealant on wheels

-VM on windows, glass, emblems

Not quite ready to tackle all of the factory scratches just yet, but wanted to do some polishing on it to remove some of the swirls for now. But for now with the weather here keeps me from wanting to get all of the scratches and deep swirls in it!

My Process:

-Menzerna FP II via Cyclo w/green pads

-ClearKote RMG via Cyclo w/green pads

-Trade Secret w/PakShak yellow foam applicator (x8 in pics)

-Poorboy's APC on wells, and wheels

-Poorboy's Bug Squash on lower panels and front bumper

-Adam's Throw Away on tires and wells

-Poorboy's Wheel Sealant x2 on wheels

-VM on windows and emblems

New mods:

-Bassani Stainless Steel axle back exhaust

-Tinted taillights

Future mods:

-Eibach springs 1.5"

-18" wheels. Coddington's or Roush wheels:nixweiss

-Aftermarket rear spoiler

-Possible Supercharger;)

I applied Poorboy's wheel sealant prior to install!

beautiful details! :xyxthumbs

There is a red GT in my local area for sale at a price of 45,000 UKP 90,000$ - they are expensive vehicles over here, not sure what they go for in the states ?

Shiny: Thanks, didn't take long for me to like them. But that maybe cuz' I've been a Mustang fan my whole life!

Axe: Thank you. That is expensive, good lord. With my Mom's discount, she works for a Ford Dealer, it was in the mid $20K if I remember correctly. I to wonder why they are so expensive there, maybe american muscle. (Tongue in cheek of course)

Import/legalization fees, maybe? :nixweiss

BTW, what weather are you talking about? Those pics show some gorgeous blue skies :D

Gorgeous work Kyle!! :xyxthumbs Bassani makes some great exhaust systems. Not too loud...not too quite and that lovely polished stainless finish is so sweet.

Thanks everyone for the nice words!:xyxthumbs

1 Clean: Bassani really makes some quality pieces. I had Bassani on my Cobra and was very pleased with it. I really took a risk on this car, I had never heard an 05 with Bassani. But I think it was a calculated risk that I am very happy I made. It really sounds different than any other Mustang I have heard, and it looks great.

Mongoose: It just poored rain all day yesterday and almost did today. For the most part it has been great, but I don't want to bust my hump only to have some rain in the near future. When it rains this thing becomes a mess and I don't want any marring from dirty rain water being on it. This thing is a bugger to polish, I can't wait to get rid of the rear spoiler and put the aftermarket one on we are looking at!:D

how you tint the lights?

For testing purposes I bought a kit made by a company called Topline overlays, I think that's the name. It comes for this car as a 7 piece tint kit. Kind of like window tint but a little thicker. You basically just apply it over the taillight and squegee all of the water and air out from underneath it. My Mom was out of town for here B-day when I did all of this, she knew nothing of it, so I bought this kit as a trial fully intended not to keep it on there if she did or didn't like it. But she turned out to like it so I am going to order the smoked light kit from X2C Motorsports

Nice! Now will you please stop ordering products I want?

Please forward me a list of those products, and I will try to not mention those. On the other hand, I may just put those in caps!:grinno:

:bow on that Mustang detail let alone the exhaust and tint upgrade :xyxthumbs The RMG really gives it that wet, wet look.

Very

Would love to hear it :D

Be sure to share pics of the new wheels

That black 05 looks great. If I did not trade my 01 GT for my 03 cobra I would have gotten one of them. I love stangs, esp. in black.

Both the Altima and Mustang look really good! That rear fender shot of the Mustang is pretty wild!

I take it you are happy with Optimum and RMG?

Spilchy: Thanks. I will definetely show pics as I go with the upgrades. I was out driving and got a vision of the final product in my head, now I just have to work on making it happen! The shop where I got the exhaust may want to put a sound clip of it on their website for future customers. If that happens I will post the link so everyone can hear it!

DontGetBit: You definetely made the better choice. Don't get me wrong, the 05 is a very nice car but cannot be better than the 03/04 Cobra IMO. I hate when a bang a few gears in my Mom's 05 and look down and I'm only doing about 50 MPH. Where as in the Cobra I would have been doing about 70 MPH. BTW, very nice job on your Cobra detail, you did a nice job on the swirls. The swirls looked pretty good, you must do a good job of washing your Cobra. Did you post on SVTperformance about your detail, I thought I had seen it before!

Scottwax: I was out to lunch with it the other day and wanted to take some nice pics. There was an office building next to where we stopped to eat, so I thought it would be a good photo op. I was trying to take some pics like Sean and his apartments. But the rear fender shot I thought turned out really cool! I'm am very happy with the Optimum line and RMG. I love RMG versatility on light and dark colors. I would recommend the Optimum wash to you, but I know QEW is you baby and Gold Class for the people that want a traditional wash. Optimum wash is the Slickest wash I have used.

Here are the wheels I was thinking about putting on the car!
