raymond_ho2002: I don't know if I can teach you anything, you have your IS in pretty good shape! I did get some dusting issues with the rotary, but I think it was because I didn't clean the pads good enough my last time I used it! Slinging, a little at the beginning, none at the end. I got the hang of it on the second panel and from there we were good though! All in all I would say the rotary is amazing, and if I can do it, anyone can! The biggest tip I can give is to mist the panel with water before applying the polish. And when I say mist, I don't mean running off of the paint. Just enough to see!!

Nice work on all! Just FYI, I've found it works best to dress the fenderwells before waxing so you don't get any overspray on the freshly waxed paint. :)

Thanks for the tip Scott. I need to slow down sometimes and not get so excited about polishing the paint, and really pay attention to the "details":D

definitely good words to ponder. both you and Scott have fuel my obscession for detailing. will keep that in mind, in the weeks to come, in preparation of my complete detail of my 03 silverado.

I've been looking at some other threads and sure seems like there's a bad case of rotary fever going around -- glad I'm not the only one. Everyone's gettin' a rotary! :woot:
 
cwcad: Glad that I can be of some help in your travels. I too had a lot of help when I was getting started and it's good to hear others getting help from me. That's good to hear.



iceberg: I do actually know where that is. I was just there about a month and a half ago to meet a member that goes by raymond_ho2002. He works right down the street from there by the Amtrak station. He is a really good guy, maybe you guys can get together and practice with the rotary and give each other tips on how to. He has/had a beautful IS300, of course black so he needs all the help he can get!!:D I'm in Sacramento by the way, Fair Oaks if you know the area at all!!
