I miss my 03 Cobra......
Well today after doing a lot of research I gave the rotary a try. I had been nervous as most of us are with the rotary. But after the research I have been doing I have been feeling a little bit more confident about it. I actually got a couple of tips from a local body shop guy came through my work and I picked his brain a little. One thing I noticed for me is that using the side handle with the rotary instead of the top handle works better for me! I know, blah blah blah, onto the pics!!



My Process:

--Wash w/Poorboy's SS&S and Adam's mix (50/50)

--Adam's polishes clay w/Meguiar's Last touch (3:1) for lube

--Menzerna PO106 via rotary and 7.5" LC polishing pad @ 1500 RPM

--Menzerna FTG by hand w/Pakshak MF applicator

--Menzerna FMJ by hand w/Pakshak yellow foamd applicator



--Poorboy's Spray & Rinse on wheels

--Poorboy's Bug Squash on lower panels, front bumper and hood

--Poorboy's APC (10:1) on wells



--Poorboy's Wheel Sealant on wheels

--Poorboy's BnB on tires

--Adam's V.R.T on trim, mirrors and wells

--Adam's Brilliant Spray Glaze on windows

And now my Altima with FMJ. I wanted to see how this thing looked with FMJ on silver. The results came out very good, but as you know with silver it's hard to get good pics! The Pink eax was giving up after 6 weeks so it was time to redo the ol' Altima.



My Process:

--Wash w/Poorboy's SS&S and Adam's Mix

--Adam's clay w/Meguiar's Last Touch (3:1) for lube

--Menzerna PO106 via PC and 6.5" Meguiar's polishing pad on 6

--Menzerna FMJ x2 (24hrs apart) w/Pakshak yellow foam applicator



--Poorboy's APC (10:1) on wells, lower panels

--Poorboy's Spray and Rinse on wheels and tires



--Poorboy's BnB on tires

--Poorboy's wheel sealant on wheels

--Adam's V.R.T. on trim and wells

--Adam's Brilliant spray glaze on windows

When you say that you used PB's Wheel Sealant on the Taurus's wheels, do you mean you sealed the steel wheels or just the wheel covers?

All in all I had pretty good conrol. With the side handle it made it better for me. Misting the panels with water made it very nice and controled. But, the middle part of the door where it starts to roll, it was kind of hard to control. But instead of moving the machine, I would move my stance and the control was back. All in all I was very pleased with the rotary experience. I did a really close look at the swirls on the rear fender while the sun was out, and the before and after was incredible. And of course doing it with a polishing pad makes me even happier! The swirls were absolutley gone pn that panel, and all of the others. I also liked how fast it does it's work, and how well it comes out!

No I didn't. And trust me I was a lookin'. Because at first site of one, I was going to stop! Makita by the way.
 
That is some outstanding work and for it being your first time that makes it something even more special. All of those finishes are crystal clear, great job. BTW, that is the cleanest s-10 I've ever seen.

am not good with naming colors but the red or maroon car is vibrant! i think FMJ is one of the best. your pictures justify my reasoning:xyxthumbs

You are correct. We did the conversion 2 weeks after we got the truck.

Approx. how many applications do you get out of a 16 oz. bottle of FMJ? I just can't get over how costly it is for a sealant.
 
BEAUTIFUL work Kyle!!! :2thumbs: I really like the S-10...detail and mod wise!



You know in the rare instance when I do use a rotary I use the same exact one! A Makita 9227CY with a side handle. Seems easier to control than an overhead handle for me as well.
 
Sweet work! I'm guessing all done within a day? How much faster does the rotary speed the process up? Do you like the Adam's products? Menzerna / Adam's / PB is my aim for this summer!
