Recent Detail v. Sold the Evo for this....

03COBRA

I miss my 03 Cobra......
I recently got a promotion at work and decided to get the car back I never should have gotten rid of in the first place. Sunday afternoon I was flipping through a svtperformance.com and found a guy literally 15 minutes from my house selling this car. Let's just say 3 days later it was mine.

So why didn't you like your Evo? I'm going to guess straightline. It's kind of funny because 2 of my buddy's who had Evo's also sold for Cobras....one got s 98, the other has an 03 with all the boltons possible. And back on topic, BEAutiful job.

As much as I do like the Evo, I would have done the same thing. AWD turbo cars are a blast, but there is nothing more satisfying than the burble of a V8 at idle and the roar of it at WOT. Not to mention that the Mustangs have been one of the best sounding cars in the world (even in STOCK form) for years :D. The torque that is available with just a light movement in the right foot as well as that blower whine is just addiciting. I really dig the 03-04 cobra. I will admit that I have never driven an EVO, but I have always favored larger displacement throaty american muscle over a smaller displacement boosted import car. I like both, but I would have made the same move.

Congrats on the new ride. I see you got the FAST color too. :D :D

I can guarantee you that's rear wheel horsepower. I just got back from the dyno...a friend with a very similar car put down almost identical numbers (465/495).

Great job on the detail and congrats on the car.

+1. You will rarely see a 03-04 list flywheel hp.

Looks great! That engine looks pretty difficult to work on. It seems like it's really crammed in there.

Modular Ford's are very wide. The headers are a pita to change but plugs are a piece of cake. Basic maintainance is easy, cylinder head removal and assembly is another thing.

Damn!, everytime I read one of your posts you have a new car! :p

Glad to see you got your dream car back, and in black it looks great

Any mods planned for it?

Welcome back!

The car looks great. Nice work.

Yes, that's rear wheel horsepower, not flywheel. I put down 500hp with ported blower, 2.93 pulley, CAI, and catback.

Great car and detail. The paint look amazing in that last shot.

Can't say that I blame you losing the Evo for a Mustang. The Evo is a pretty cool car but there is nothing like a V8 powered, RWD pony car. :)

Looks great, buddy! I'm glad you got the car you wanted.

I will probably will be the only one to say I liked the EVO better. Once you launch in an AWD car, its hard to turn back. Plus, no need for a winter or foul weather car.

Regardless, I bet that thing is a trip to drive and probably has the exhaust note to back it up. Any chance of a short vid :D?

The Cobra looks great. congrats on being back in a Terminator. they are a blast to drive. I had a 2003 Redfire Cobra for a year and decided to sell it and get into an all wheel drive STI or EVO. I drove both of them and while they were nice with the AWD I just missed the whine of that supercharger and the modded performance. I only went 2 months without a Cobra until I bought my 04 Mystic soon after. Its been my best Cobra to date and I have had 5 of them. its a keeper for me and by next year I will be looking again for a AWD vehicle but it looks like the Lexus IS250 will be the car that I will be looking at. Good Luck with the Cobra.

Later,04MysticCobra.

Once you launch a v8 powered rwd car on slicks, there is no going back. :spot
