Reccomnandations for a Good Chome Polish and Protectant?

I have been using using Deep Finish Deep Chrome on my chrome exhaust tips and various other metal pieces practially forever it seems, and haven't paid much attention to any other chrome products out there since. While it worked well and I don't think that the Deep Chrome is even made anymore, but I'd like to try something different anyways. I want something that is non abrasive, but can clean and protect the chrome, even something can do some filling will be a plus. What are some of the best chrome products that are available at the moment?

I love Mothers Chrome Polish. It has mild abrasives, chemical cleaners and leaves behind a decent protection.

Yeah, deep went out of biz.

I bought the Optimum Metal Polish about 6 months ago. I'd say it's my preferred product at the momemt :)

Does Optimum Metal Polish have a gritty feel at all, or is it like a real thin liquid like the Mothers Chrome Polish? I read that the OMP is also capable of removing swirls and lights scratches from chrome, any truth to this or will it take the use of a machine to achieve those results?

It's more like a thin liquid. You have to shake it real well prior to use; it separates quickly. I probably have 5 or 6 metal polishes in my kit, including the deep product, and I think the Optimum is probably the best. It leaves a distinct slickness to the surface, moreso than the others. That makes future cleaning events somewhat easier. Looks great, too !

I can't comment on that. Most of the surfaces I deal with are in very good condition.

From the Optimum website

"It can be used to remove oxidation, scratches, and swirl marks from all metal surfaces leaving a mirror shine. Optimum Metal Polish also leaves a protective coating to protect metal surfaces from oxidation.

Optimum Metal Polish can be used by hand or with buffing machines on any metal surface. The sub-micron polishing agents and chemical cleaners work quickly to remove oxidation, scratches, and swirl marks quickly to create a flawless mirror shine"

I would therefore assume if it can remove scratches the "polishing agents" are abrasives

I thought you weren't looking for anything strongly abrasive, that's I recommended Mothers. What are you trying to achieve?
